Hey I already collect Chaos Marines but I'm wonderin about a secondary army. I would like an army with some serious long range firepower in the form of infantry, Im not a big fan of mech. Im not bothered if they suck in close combat any ideas? (relativley new to 40k btw)

How about:

Some oblitertors they can fire a different weapon each turn

That sounds a lot like tau. You can build a decent gunline using only infantry and jump suits.

Or some havocs backed up in a rhino or land raider of course you also have the choise of vindicators, predators with dual lascannons and terminators armed with 48" dual autocannons

My brother collects Tau and has a solid army built around like Bishop said a gunline of Fire warriors and jump suits. Not that good in terms of close combat but who cares when they shoot the hell out of you from afar

Lol yeah gun em down before they close you down, are the tau rail rifles any good?

The rifles are S5 rapid fire, and their carbine are S5 Assault 1 Pinning, not sure on AP.
