I have been playing that a KFF grants a 4+ cover save to vehicles. Everyone I know plays it this way, everyone on this baord seems to play it this way and the INAT FAQ clarifies that it works this way.

But getting into a rule argument the other day I can't actually justify why.

The KFF grants a 5+ cover save to ALL units.
Vehicles count as obscured.

Under the rulebook vehicles obscured by a weird power such as a KFF are at 4+ unless otherwise specified

Surely the ork codex specifies that it is a 5+?

Nope, the ork codex specifies that it is obscured.

KFF effect applies to a vehicle.
Vehicle gains obscured status.
Check if it is otherwise specified
Nope, it's obscured.

All rules satisfied.

It gives both you get to pick the better one.

Your Grandmaster is the only good leprechaun that remains, all the others turned to whiskey.

That's been a matter of some contention. Some feel that it should be a 4+, as the codex lists the 5+ save and the fact that vehicles count as obscured in separate sentences. Others (myself included) feel that the 5+ save mentioned is specific enough, and that the mention of vehicles being obscured just clarifies that vehicles can take the save as well.

Obviously, that's a rather condensed version of the two arguments. Most people do appear to play it as a 4+.

I'm going to lock this one here, as it's been discussed to death before and generally doesn't end well.
