Subject: Xenos mechanics & healers

Many times I have asked myself why does only the imperium have units like tech priests and tech marines?
Why don't the necrons have repair scarabs? or eladar have bone singers?
Why does the imerium have Apothacaries and medics? when the tyrinids & tau have none?
I propose that Xenos get medics & mechanics. (the title said that much) They would bacically have the same rules as the imperium but varies slightly in different races.
please post anything I have forgot to point out.

I know what you're thinking and it's crazy, slightly gross ... and yet disturbingly arousing.
Ask not an eldar for directions for they will give you three, all which are to the nearest book reading club.

Frankly, GW have never made a good or useful mechanic char. (the ones that are taken, like Big Meks, are taken for other reasons).
Also, medic's don't really make too much sence either, when you consider that "killed" models are not always dead etc. I don't see why having someone who's job it is to harvest the organs of the dead makes the squad better protected (altough "ignore the first non-ID wound" is a better mechanic than FNP).
Orks do have both Meks and Docs
Certainly, "Medic" models don't make sence for Tyranids, Necrons (WBB booster models do tho), CDaemons and DEldar.
No mechanics for Tyranids or CDaemons either.
What could work:
Medical/Repair drones for Tau
Bonesingers for Eldar (repair tanks or heal wraithconstructs), healing could be a Warlock power.
CSM used to have both medics and mechanic chars.

In the new editions it causes Feel No Pain
Orks do have both Meks and Docs
I know that but ty
Certainly, "Medic" models don't make sence for Tyranids,
Uh' What about some bio-syimbote unit y'know somthin like venom
Necrons ( WBB booster models do tho), CDaemons and DEldar.
shamans could be medics for demons while Deldar have the homlicule (I cant't spell it) have a healing rule like you suggested for the eldar warlock and it could have a special rule (it would be like a leadership test) if you roll a you dont get the fnp bonous and if you roll a you don't get the fnp but the whole squad gets an extra wound. for the Deldar mechanic you could have a slave with the speical rule of rebelious slave if you roll a the vehicle takes a glancing hit.
No mechanics for Tyranids or CDaemons either. true but what about the soul reaper?

Medical/Repair drones for Tau
Bonesingers for Eldar (repair tanks or heal wraithconstructs), healing could be a Warlock power.

I hought the same thing (last paragraph)

I know 5th Ed medics give FNP. I personly feel that the older style medics (ignore 1st non-ID wound/turn) were a better way of implementing it.
Tyranids shouln't have a medic because it doesn't fit with the fluff - the Hive Mind woundn't bother to heal anything (bar what could be accomplsied by regen), as it could simply order the gaunt with a broken leg into a spawning vat, break it down and rebuild it.
Daemons - You couldn't inculde a Shaman model, as that wouldn't be a daemon. I could see very powerful Greater Daemons/massed rituals/huge amounts of death strenghening the daemons connection to the 'real' world, and daemons 'renitting' their bodies, but again, you cannot really medicate a being of emotion.
DEldar - Are supposed to be greedy and only look after themselves. Why would they want to stop and help another? If the other was higher ranking, they would let them die (or even help them along) to further themselves. If the other was lower rank, they would see the wounds as a weakness, and think it was beneith them to help.
Soul GRINDER - not really enough to suggest the need for a repair unit, if only a max of 3 models would benafit. Also, its still a daemon, so the above applies.

So true but the nids could have a fnp rule upgrade for HQ models like broodlords & tyrants.
Deldar could have a fnp drug for hq as well.
demons i still think the shaman idea is valid and you could heal them with emotion. BECAUSE THATS DA POWER OFFFFFF LOVE!
