In a previous post I said I've been trying to make some sort of terrain and buildings for a Taros type setting. jrminiatures.net has a fine selection of Middle-eastern buildings for low prices too! I bought a few and went right to work. Here is one of the buildings I have been working on, from start to finish.

This is the front of the building, what I will be displaying most of. The building itself came in a gray base. I spray-painted it black, and then again with a tan.

The second photo is the bricks done with a medium brown, this has been done on all sides of the building.

The final photo is the finished piece. Taking bits from Imperial guard tanks. Side panels, antenna, and eagle were applied on multiple sides. I also applied a wash to the bricks and cracks and damages around the house.

Looks sweet.

Is the roof removable though? Cause you might have trouble maneuvering garrisoned troops otherwise.

Nice job! It is amazing what a difference those little additions make.

The buildings surprised me , they are good. I will post more later.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here are some follow up pics, I converted the first one a bit more, added a door basically. The other two buildings are a Taros Water house and a rich home. I also put a bit of Tau technology influence on each of the buildings, to show the years of trading with the Tau Empire.

Water House (Note the Tau Sensor spine.)

Side of the Water house

Added door to the front. (Note the Tau'Sept symbol)

Inside the water house. ( Note the Tau weapons. Resistance!)

A rich home (Note the Tau sensor spines on top, and the fusion blaster on the side perhaps a Tau cooling device instead of a Fusion blaster)
