With the recent swing to mech armies, is a Kan wall still competitive? How would you go about making a list?

I actually have a full body tattoo, but it's of an invisibility cloak, so you can't see it.

Haven't seen one in person, but I've heard Good Things. Plus, it would look completely bad ass...

I'd run 6 kans with grotzookas, 3 kans with rokkits, 2 big meks w/kffs, 2 deff dreds, four units of gretchin, and then as many koptas as i could cram in.

One of my most regular opponents has been running the Kan Wall since the day the current Codex came out. Locally, at least, his win:loss ratio is something like 5:1. I have never personally beaten the Kan Wall with my Sisters, but I have never beaten any Ork list with them, and I am hardly the world's best player I would not expect it to win a tournament, but it definitely seems to be a nasty list.

I've never played in a tournament, and to be honest I don't really plan to. I usually only play in a garage where we can smoke and drink and have a nice laid back game.

New plastic Kans make me wants them.

Kan Wall is competitive but will struggle against Mech IG and Mech Eldar (witch blades will kill a unit of kans a turn). I dismantled a dual lash list with a kan wall list in a local tournament a few years ago. It's a pretty fun list to play as well with the exception of dawn of war deployment.

As I said I don't play in tournaments, so "Mech meta" won't be a problem. All I'll have to worry about is Space Marines in Rhinos and the possibility of Fishies of Fury or a Wave Serpent and Falcon.

If you have a lot of boys runnin' behind them, then yes they are extremely effective, especially with grotzookas.

Kan Walls effective give Ork boyz a walking, shooting shield that moves with them and can be tricked out to be very effective versus horde armies or combined to field anti-tank dakka. As pointed out, Mech lists and lists with tons of anti-tank dakka are going to wipe Kans out quickly.

Kan Walls also provide a valuable BS3 platform for rokkit launchas, one of the more reliable Ork long-range anti-tank firepower. Imo, if you're running the full 9 Kans, have 2 squads with RL, and one with Grotzookas. Or vice versa if you often face more hoardey lists

Target Saturation... Does it have it?

3 Units of 3 Walkers that are obscured.
2 Units of walkers that have over 5 S10 attacks again obscured.
2+ units of 30 boyz that cannot be shot at without giving them a 4+ cover save.
A Single SAG off in the distance, launching templates of death.
A KFF with 30+ wounds.
All for less than 1300 points!

I have to admit, I miss the old Infantry battles of 4E compared to this 5E wonderland of APCs/IFVs everywhere. It's like we jumped from WWI to WWII.

Bah, give that second Mek a KFF too and you're set to go. Lets you extend your Kan Wall/Dred Bash a lil further, I think. Unless you plan to add more Shootas/Lootas with him.
