I have to say I've known this band for awhile but haven't gotten to really appreciate them till recently.
Question Dakka, which was your favorite singer? Tarja or Annete?
I'm sticking to Tarja I liked how she gave the band a theatrical kinda opera feeling.

Both have their advantages. I found the band after the change, but I don't think it is a big deal. All bands change over time or disappear.

It's a tough decision which singer I like better. Their newest stuff, after the switch, is phenomenal, and I love it to death.
Actually, it's not that tough of a decision. Annete. She still has a great voice, without the haughty sound of tarja's.
Though, to be fair, I've only actually touched one of them.

Tarja was good, although she was lacking live. Anette can rip it up live.
I like them both, but they are better off without Tarja, as she was turning into a Diva bitch.

Anette all the way. Old singer was like "Lookit me! I can do opera!" .. but I'd like to see (hear) the viking dude singing a bit more mixed in.
I just think their newer stuff is just much better overall, not just the vocals though but everything. I got the special edition version of dark passion play that came with a bonus CD of every song only instrumentals with no vocals at all, really good stuff in there.

Yeah, gotta go with Anette. Her voice has a quality which fits in nicely with the music.

Well I did not know why they changed singers. I always had a thing for Melodic Metal. So naturally I'd have to go with Traja.
But I will say Annete is quite the looker and I like a number of her songs.

I like Tarja, Annete might be better for live but that´s not what I like from Nightwish.
