My Thoughts:

The way I see it this army can deal really well with most opponents. It stays mobile as all the weapons are assault class and can be fired on the move for devastating effects. You do have to be a little worried about high armored targets but generally you can just avoid these with your high mobility. The best part is this army can deal really well with psykers, as well as being able to stop most assault heavy armies with the Mancatchers. I have versed several MEQ and horde armies with great success! Please any help so I can improve my list.

P.S. I also versed a seer council and let's just say it was one game Eldrad didn't see coming

Truthfully I don't know if I've been playing in the wrong area but I've never seen a IG army played this way with allies. People may give you advice but in the end its how you play with it if you succeed than its fine. The only thing is you say this army is mobile but I see all your infantry footslogging it. How would this army not get ripped apart by orks? I learned that lesson the hard way. You have only really one large template in the melta torpedo. Your assasains seem overdone. I've only played with one Death Cult but your using 9? I'm curious how that would work. The first group I'm guessing goes with your inquisitor. There are no meltas and no way of taking out stronger units. How do you pop transports? This list just seems kinda ineffective.

I think you could get a lot more out of getting IG allies in for your troops - Vets or platoons in Chimeras.

You could either get heavy weapons to shore up your shotcomings in anti-transport, or get chimeras to address the mobility issues.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

In a word...no. I'm guessing you don't play against a lot of Mech?

You have lots of Grenade launchers, but that's about it. You have nothing that can take out AV12+, no transports for protection, or anything that can really threaten MEQ/TEQ. Only Acolyte Henchmen can take Mancatchers, so you'll have to get rid of those on your IST.

Here's what I think the list needs:
1. Meltaguns. Give each IST squad 2 of them.
2. Rhinos. Give each IST squad one of them.
3. Get rid of the Orbital Strike.

You brighten my life like a polystyrene hat, but it melts in the sun like a life without love, and I've waited for you so I'll keep holding on without you.

Firstyl, I missed that line about the mancatchers in the codex, will have to tell the local GW as well :(

Secondly, armor 12+ vehicles are beardy, and there's no chance you will see more than 2 in a 1500 point game, and they can't hold objectives.

Thirdly, the list has A LOT of mobility, IT DON'T STOP MOVING! All the weapons are assault so you can constantly move. Most armies have to choose between move and shoot, but this one does both.

Since I have to take the man catchers out and you are right I need some extra ability to deal with armored targets (or 'mech' which seems to be a popular name) I will replace all the mancatchers on the Veteran Storm Troopers with Melta Bombs. Same points, and works perfect!

So replace:

10 Inquisitorial Storm Troopers 100
Shotguns
2 Grenade Launchers 20
Veteran with Mancatcher and Bolter - Stake Crossbow Combi Weapon 25
Total 145

with

10 Inquisitorial Storm Troopers 100
Shotguns
2 Grenade Launchers 20
Veteran with Melta Bombs and Bolter - Stake Crossbow Combi Weapon 25
Total 145

They can work well against vehicles.

Yours can not.

How are Chimeras, Armored Sentinels, and Dreads beardy?

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

O H I am in the Webway...

In short: No. It's one of the weakest armies I have ever seen.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Your army isn't mobile one bit. MECHANIZED armies are mobile. 6 inches + D6 w/o shooting vs. 12 inches. There are SO many ways you can pull this thing out of the gutter. You also have nothing to take down mech. Melta bombs? Good luck.

To keep it simple:

1. Drop all assassins and the Orbital Strike

2. Buy Rhinos or Chimeras for every unit.

3. Replace grenade launchers with meltaguns or flamers (not one of each) and keep the hellguns.

4. I recommend dropping the squad size down to 5. IST's are suicide squads. Imperial Guard blobbed squads and sisters are the real heavy hitters.

Good luck...

Sorry I have to agree with the general concensus that this is not a good list. It is intriguing and different but that doesn't make it good.

My most regular opponent plays a 1750 IG list with 5 x AV12 and 3 x AV14 vehicles. 5 IST in a Rhino can hold objectives quite well, not sure what you're talking about there. Taking Mech isn't beardy, it's playing to your codex strengths.

Meltabombs in a squad of IST on foot will never get used, unless your opponent is an idiot and allows it to happen. You'd be better off taking 2 Meltaguns and putting them into a Rhino.

Your entire can can only move 6" per turn...that's not exactly mobile. Most armies use vehicles which can move 6" or more and shoot, and are far more durable than IST.
