I am currently thinking of starting a new army (I've used orks for a while) and I am trying to decide what i should get. I'm trying to keep away from using the same armys that my friends have. My girlfriend is currently using Eldar, friend 1 is using nids, friend 2 is using tau, and friend 3 is using DH allied with IG. This pretty much leaves MEQ. So this being said I am debating between SW, BA, and BT. Which should i get? If you can please tell me what the special rules for them are that would be great because i have no idea. Remember that this is a discussion so anything you can say on how to use them is welcome as well.

BA does have all that new stuff coming out though. CC and a lot of dreadnoughts. whats not to like there. They would have the most updated stuff. new rules and all so i am not sure whats up with them. I will be checking them out myself.

My buddy plays SW and the models look great and they are easy to play, paint and get behind fluff wise. BT are a bit out of date but you can not deny how awesome a fully painted army looks on the tabletop!

So, overall. i would say...gooooo Raiders!!!

You could use Chaos-Daemons because you can get things like Flamers of tzeench that can kill on a 4+ I think. Well it is something like that. Also there are some really cool looking Nurgle models. Lastly the can be used for 40k and Fantasy if you use the square bases and can be a real joy to paint.

As a Wolf player, I always want to convert people to the cause of Russ and the Allfather, but...well, it all depends on your playstyle. Blood Angels are looking to be really speedy and close-combat oriented (I heard the latest they'll ever get into CC is Turn 2) while Wolves are close-combat oriented with some great ranged support. Never played BT, so can't really offer an opinion on them.

Well, the thing about chaos is that my other friend (the same one playing nids) is going to be switching to caos cause he thinks nids are cheap. Plus i never really liked how they looked fielded but that's just me.

As for my play style well i would have to say that i love CC (Played orks duh), out flanking, and deep strike.
I would also like to have maybe a deep strike terminator type army but im not sure.

is your friend switching to CSM or Chaos Daemons? Daemons have awesome CC and deepstrike everything.

Look into Blood Angels. Apparently they get deep striking Land Raiders now (Once the codex hits shelves in April). They're also going to be the most assaulty of any Marine chapter, plus they will be current - so they're going to be competitive when they're released.

My friend is going CSM, probably should have mentioned that. I'm afraid to do caos anything because ill get owned by my DH buddy, besided i want to feild something...unusual i guess...

So, if i decide on BA then i should probably wait for the new codex then...

What are the special rules for BA? Could you compare them to the other two?
