I'm currently trying to collect Ultramarines 3rd company and I want it to be relatively realistic and I was reading through the Codex and saw in the Ultramarines chapter Organization
part that the Ultramarines chapter has 25 Predators, 8 Vindicators, 9 whirlwinds and 12 land raiders. That must mean that I must shun the Razorback? Or do you know if this has changed any?

It has been varified by John Hurt that the Ultramarines are indeed the greatest space marine chapter.

Well then GW has done wrong too by putting photos of Ultramarine Razorbacks in the Codex...
Seriously though, I would assume that the list should be ignored, as this makes the Rhino, Razorback and Land Speeder obsolete, so just go for it, include the 'Back

Well it does say in the description of the razorback in the Codex that it is the youngest Rhino version and many chapters are loath to use it, and I would think that the Ultramarines are probably the most conservative of the lot.

Sorry, but those heavy support choices you have listed are part of the Arsenal and therefore razorbacks as attached to companys are not included in your list. Look closely, Dreads and speeders and bikes are also missing....

May i suggest codex space marines 3rd ed ( 1998 ) page 46.

Ultramarines 3rd co:

Captain, Chaplain, Apothecary, Standardbearer,
6 squads of Tactical marines,
8 assaultmarines
5 assaultmarines
2 squads of devastors
2 dreadnaughts
9 rhinos
2 landspeeder
2 landspeeder tornado
3 landspeeder typhoon
20 bikes
3 assaultbikes

was the company under cpt Ardias, changed to Cpt Fabian now. Size of squads will be different now.

None of the battlecompanys got razorbacks at this page, but those razorbacks were listed in the arsenal => 5x.
Guess which company sports the captain with the title of the master of the arsenal?
yep, 3rd.

Maybe the ultras need some time to accept changes ( like the razorback and his short service record of 4 millenia )?

Thanx for that info, now I can use landspeeders and bikes with good concience But the Razorback may have to wait. (I'll give the Ultramarines another two millenium to accept)
