Hello all,

I have a few questions for you guys.
So, Mandiblasters gives the model +1A and scorpion chainsword +1S.
When I take my exarch with a scorpion claw does he has S7? (S3 x 2 for the Power fist and +1S for the chainsword) or is it just S6?
And does he have 3 A when swining with his claw?

You cannot combine the effects of Two Close Combat Weapons (the exception being the new Tyranids because thw way their rules are written means they can, but that's not important so we'll get on with this), so with a Claw he is S6 and with a Chainsword his is S4, you have to pick which one you are using each turn.

As for Attacks, when attacking with his Claw he gets whatever his base attacks are, +1 if he Assaulted and +1 for having Mandiblasters (if he has them).
When attacking with his Chainsword, he gets his Base attacks, +1 if he Assaulted and + 1 for mandiblasters.

The Chansword is a Two handed weapon so you cannot get the bonus attack for two weapons, and the Claw is a Power Fist so only gets the attack if you have two of them.

Huh, well, Bugger me with a Frying Pan made of Nutshells, I cant find them either.

Seems like Plasma Grenades do NOTHING!!!!!!!!

But if you can get past that RaW silliness, they are Assault Grenades, and the rules are found in the Grenade Section of the main Rulebook (Check the Index for Page Numbers, I CBA looking it up

)

I think you're thinking of the Biting Blade here. Regular scorpion chainswords are not specified as being two-handed, but I think (could be wrong) that the exarch does not have a pistol in this set up, so is not eligible for an extra attack anyways.

Yup you're absolutely right, I had in my head I was talking about the Biting Blade and not the Scorp Chainsword lol

I think plasma grenades are under the grenades regular rule, they just count as assault grenades.

And that is where you are wrong. Plasma Grenades are given as AN EXAMPLE of an Assault Grenade, but nowhere in the Eldar Codex does it say THEIR Plasma Grenades are Assault Grenades. It could, for all we know, be refering to Dark Eldar Plasma Grenades.

Given that GW constantly writes different effects and rules for Wargear with Similar/Identical names between codexes, it is not a safe assumption that Eldar Plasma Grenades are the same as Dark Eldar Plasma Grenades or being used as the Example in the BRB.

Power Weapons (at least in the SM codex) say "See the Assault Phase chapter of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook for details of using power weapons."

Nowhere in the Eldar Codex does it say to look at the rulebook for what Plasma Grenades do, so you can't.

Even given the wording for space marines, how do we know that the power weapons you have been asked to look up the details of using are the same power weapons you may equip your space marines with? After all, we already know that what are listed in the rulebook are power weapons of some sort, the question is whether these are the same as the ones in the codex.

What do you mean "Believe"? I post what the rules say, without Bias or embellishment.

When I Say "Elfdar Plasma Grenades No Werk", it's because Elfdar Plasma Grenades No Werk, not because I "Believe" Elfdar Plasma Grenades No Werk.
