Id say that its a bad idea if the mission is grabbing objectives because you are definitely going to get eaten up against any Nid units in CC even with a larger blob because they have so many attacks and will almost always strike first. Its a better idea to feed one small 10 man squad to his large squad of gaunts and get another turn to shoot your guns. You basically give him more targets and he cna only assault one squad each turn so you minimize damage that way. Also multiple squads will allow you more mobility and units to capture with although they are weaker.

However, if the mission is kill points then you might want to blob so you dont conced too many kill points.

Agreed with warham113. Only other option are 20 blobs with commissars... but those are extra points you do not wanna spend.

Mud company 2000 pts.
Colonel Hermann Winter's Armoured fist 1500 pts.
Armored battlegroup 1750 pts.
Death korps of Krieg 4000 pts.
FoW germans 5000 pts.
BFG Imperial fleet 2500 pts.
Necromunda gang 2500 credits
Easterlings and Harad LotR 1300 pts.

I am generaly not a blob fan, I was thinking if I blob making sure I have a Preist
Though I am going for a Conscript Squad with the "With Out Numbers" with Chekov, and a Priest.

Conscripts are garbage; can't hit worth Spit in shooting, and eats up points that could be spent on line infantry.

If you choose to combine; Combine with 2-3 squads. For anti horde take 2-3 5 squad platoons with the following:

Platoon: 435
Infantry Squad 120
Commissar
Lascannon
Plasmagun

Infantry squad 85
Lascannon
Plasmagun

Infantry Squad 100
Commissar
Heavy Bolter
Grenade Launcher

Infantry Squad 65
Heavy Bolter
Grenade Launcher

Infantry Squad 65
Heavy Bolter
Grenade Launcher

This gives you 9 Heavy bolter shots, and 3 frag grenades at the nearest Squad, and 2 Lascannon, 2 Plasmaguns at the nearest MC/Transport. Multiply that X2 plus add in whatever your CCS and PCSs are packing(most likely flamers and Plasma) and you have quite a bit of fire-power.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

The problem with blobbing against hordes is that it allows the horde to possibly wipe out your entire squad in one turn. If you only let the horde assault one squad a turn then you limit the casualties to ten men a turn and many attacks would be wasted. However, if you blobbed up then the extra attacks would lead to more casualties as you have 20-30 wounds to lose.

Priests are mainly there to make your blobs stubborn. If you are not blobbing they aren't worth it.

The answer is almost always: No, Don't blob.
The exception: CC builds.

"All of the whining pisses me off... Somewhere some whiny girlyman reinterpreted sportsmanship to reflect the build and not the player. The build has nothing to do with sportsmanship and getting docked as such is ludicrous." -Inigo Montoya
That being said, I'll still give you a 0 if you bring more than 5 eldar skimmers. Don't be that guy.
Also, strippers.
