Yellin' Yoof

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a good suggestions for Primers. I've been painting models for a good time now, but nothing to the scale of the Ork army I just assembled. The amount of money I find myself spending on primers is getting ridiculous.
I have some from GW, Army Painter, and something with Dork Tower on the front. The black primers are generally ok, and atleast last to the end of the bottle. The white primers (which i am trying to do my orks with), are just terrible. One can stopped spraying and just dibbled out a stream of paint. One leaves the models all chalky and flakes off easily. Am I doing something wrong with these primers? Are there better (hopefully cheaper) primers on the market?

The way I see it--the less you spend on primer, the more likely the chance to ruin a model. Some people swear by the Wal-Mart primers, but I've never had them work worth a crap.
If you want another alternative, Army Painter has actual colored primers that will lessen your workload. Tamiya also makes a Fine Surface Primer that I did a review of on the blog(listed in my sig). It's fairly pricey, but amazing.

Dupil-Color Sandable primer, I swear by it.

Throw enough Goblins at anything and it should go away, at the very least there will be less Goblins.
What does Eric Clapton and Coffee have in common? Both suck without Cream.

Krylon Flat Black. Much cheaper than hobby primers and a solid strong base for painting.

The color of primer really depends on what the color of your army is. For lighter colors like yellow, orange, or white, use white primer. For dark colors like blue, red, etc, use black.

I swear by Rustoleum Grey primer for metal and plastic. Works for both light and darker ranges of colour and sprays on really well.

I think i use the same as fatrat... its the professional rustoleum in the taller silver can. I love it to death, even when i accidentally dusted it instead of clear coat on my Norse BB team.
