I am a space wolves player, and my friend recently started playing 'nids, most of his force I can hurt from afar with longfangs and razorbacks. My only issue is the genestealers infiltrating 12"-18" away, and getting into combat far to fast, Usually I will lose a unit or two to close combat before cutting them all down with fire, of course this whole time the rest of his army has been slowly advancing....so any ideas on how I could kill them faster would be apreciated.

Rapid firing grey hunters or a flamer in a rhino I think would wreck their day. Just move the rhino flame and rapid fire they are only T4 with a 5+ save so half the hits will statistically kill.

Put your troops in a rhino and laugh at the stealers as they pull you out and your bolters/flamers eat them. If they're hitting your grey hunters then just have them stand more than 18" from the edge.

Underestimating genestealers FTL!

While its true that the best answer is to put everything in vehicles, dont assume that a few grey hunters will wipe any stealer unit with shooting.

Some ghetto math: 1 dead stealer infiltrating into cover, with requisite bolter attacks:
1 wound x2 for 4+ cover x2 for toughness 4 x3/2 for to hit rolls = 6 bolters, or 3 rapid firing grey hunters to kill 1 stealer.

Effect of 2 surviving stealers in cc: 6 attacks, 4 hits, 6 to-wound rolls with poison rerolls, 1 rend and 2 regular wounds, ~1.7 dead GH. 1.3 GH counter attack for .65 dead stealers. Now the stealers are tied with GH for casualties, and it quickly goes to the stealers favor in round 2 of the combat.

Now, while its true that if you catch the stealers out in the open you will double the bolter wounds that get through, you also have to get out of your transport in order to rapid fire.

Add the broodlord for wound allocation sillyness, and the stealers can be pretty scary customers.

If you run a ton of razorbacks with las cannons and twin plasma guns, that will go a long way to solve any nid problems. The razor can get 2 shots on the move, twin linked, while keeping the squad inside safe for as long as possible... meaning you can deal with his critical end game units first and ignore the throw away stealers on turn 1/turn2 until the transports are wrecked, and then focus on the stealers turn 3 after the stealers have assaulted your razors.

Keep yourself in cover to receive charges... no frags FTL. Flamers are also your friend.

One speeder with a heavy flamer can wipe out a genestealer unit of any size by itself. Done it many times.

Just move 7-12", flame them, they charge you and fail to hurt do anything, then move 7" to the other side of the unit, repeat until they're all dead (not more than a couple of turns). You auto-hit, wound on 3's, cover doesn't help them, and neither does armor. As long as you move over 6", there's very little chance they can hurt you with assaults.
