Ok here goes, are smart missles on a Hammerhead twin linked? If not originally then are they able to be made twin linked? There is a question within my group whether or not the 4 smart missle shots are twin linked. Thanks in advance for helping.

Does it say they are twinlinked? If not then they aren't.

If they were twinlinked then they would be 2 shots, TL, or as seperate weapons 4 shots.

It is strange that you get two smart missile system sponson bitz to place on every battle suit or vehicle that can take them. Perhaps the reasoning is that you will still get to fire all four shots, ignoring line of sight, from either sponson as opposed to needing both to be in range.

Riddle me this: what has four sides, moves twelve inches, and moved fourteen?

Just checked the codex - it states "Smart missile system, +X point"

A Smart Missile System is 4 shots. At no point does it everr state these are twin linked.

They aer not twinlinked and you have no option to twin link them. Why do you think they would be twinlinked?

Do people assume CML are twinlinked? There are two "pods"....

After what you get to read here every day, would that seriously surprise you?

Not really....

In this case theyve given you the better option - 4 shots non twinlinked are far, far better than 2 shots TL...

I haven't ever seen a BS3 Hammerhead; everyone takes the targeting array.

FOr equal ballistic skills then more shots is generally better - for example with BS3 the expected number of hits is 2, whereas 2TL gives you only 1.5.

BS3 hammerheads dont exsist, they come with Targeting array in the base cost, now BS3 Devilfish is a different story

Somewhere in south-central England.

Smart Missiles are not twin-linked.

They have two pods on the vehicle because that necessary to replace the drone on both wings.

The in-game effect is that you can draw your range or LoS -- whichever it is that draws from the muzzle -- from either pod.

If the system is hit (weapon destroyed) then both pods are removed or inactivated.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
