How would lets say a IG Sentinel leave combat in any way if it chooses to?

It cannot, in the rules, leave combat voluntarily.

The only "standard" way is to have Hit and Run - and the sentinel doe snot have hit and run.

Well, the Big Red Book is rather unhelpful on that note. I presume it can leave like a normal vehicle, seeing as how it doesn't have a leadership value. Though I'm not sure if it's possible to catch a walker with a sweeping advance...

Really, what page of the rule book is that on, nosferatu1001?

Page 73 of the rulebook. The first sentence of Walkers and Assaults says that "make assault moves and can be locked in combt with enemy units." The second to last sentence in that section makes them not subject to sweeping advance because they neither make morale checks nor are subject to No Retreat!.

In short, a walker is completely unaffected by being on the losing side of a combat.

By killing everything it is in assault with.

well, to be honest, when your sentinel is locked in combat, consider him lost. It'll die, or fight for the rest of the game with 1A, 3WS and no power weapon.

I agree that walkers cannot leave combat voluntarily. This, however, makes them a great last-resort tarpit unit - an armored sentinel can keep almost any kind of infantry not wielding S4+ powerfists and melta-bombs locked in combat for a long time.

Unless it's an Ultramarines Walker, then it leaves combat by Punching up a few Avatars and then dingle handedly wiping out a Hive Fleet.

Better yet, a chainfist, hitting up the rear armor, with DOUBLE PENETRATION dice..., though the double penetration dice would be wasted on a Canonesse...the regular power fist(ing) is enough

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
