Hi guys,

I'm an eldar player and until now I've just been using my skimmers and jetbikes without any flying bases. I want to base them so they are hovering but the clear plastic bases you get with them arn't great.

Does anyone have any pics for effective things they do please? I hear a lot of people use ruins to stick them on. I would quite like to use a thin metal rod but dont know how I would attach it to the tank and a large base.

Thanks

use 50mm or 60mm round bases.
The plastic peg can be fitted easily on to these.
I usually clip off the top part of the peg & enlarge the hole in the bottom of the flier. This provides a stronger fit that is less likely to snap.
If done right you won't even have to glue it (the peg is cone-shaped so a resistance type fit is possible).
This way you'll be able to transport the models around easier.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Hi,

I have started using the magnetic flying bases made by a company called Back2Base-ix.
They come in 2 basic varieties; the first kind is suitable for small fliers (jetbikes), and the other for larger fliers (falcons etc).
I have so far only used the small stands that come with 60mm bases, and i have found them to be very good.
The 60mm base supplied is a bit chunky for my liking, so i have used the ones supplied by GW instead.
The company is based in Australia, however i found the shipping to be quite good, taking just 10 days to arrive.
Hope this helps.

I use nuts and bolts.
Embed a nut into the model and glue the bolt to the base.
It would also be possible to use threaded rod so that the stalk was detachable from the base for better storage.
