I started playing when 5th edition came out. Since then I have played Tau, Necrons, Space marines, new nids and Orks. I had about 3K in all armies. The one thing I have come to realize is that out of all these armies; Orks can pretty much answer anything thrown at them with SM coming in second. Even when fighting SW spamming JOTWW, it will stil be a hardfought battle. With the angry red pretty marines coming out, I am actually not concerned at all. So with the new updated FAQ out, has anyone really won any games because of deff rollaz. Any link to a battle report with deff rolla spam would be helpful as well.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

Deffrollas don't win or lose games, period. It's just another tool in the toolbox. Anyone who takes a bunch and thinks it's auto-win is like someone who brings 5 hammers to a construction site and then wonders why he doesn't have a screwdriver. In the limited span of time since they were FAQd to work, I've seen them bulldoze landraiders, which is nice, but then the terminators inside smashed the orks to bits, so it's hardly "game over." I am inclined to believe that will be the likelier scenario and any deffrolla "wins" are probably smashing noobs into the ground who had to no way to stop the BWs in 2-3 rounds of shooting.

all the deffrollas do is replace a Grabbinklaw, boarding planks, and reinforced ram...

For 5 more points you deal D6S10 that auto hit, instead of 4S9 that hit half the time.

I think it's about the same as having a Warboss walk out and plank things. The Deffrolla does take up a nice role though, anti-heavy-armor. Something orks lack without getting close...and you still have to get close, but it's better than nothing.

Your opponent is going to do everything they can to stop that roller, and then every once in a while you'll fight an army the roller is less useful on (like bike marines, or deathwing "I'll just move my fearless terminators out of the way again and pass my armor saves")

Try this deffrolla tactic*:

Squeeze 8 Battlewagons into a list with deffrollas and smash some 'umie face!

Then bring 4 trukks with reinforced rams, and follow it up with 9 rokkit buggies!

Your looking at a list well over 2000 points, but boy won't that make a few opponents snicker/cry.

*Note: Tactic may not work. In fact, it may hasten your doom. Sanity sold seperately.

Deff rollas are surprisingly not great against any infantry with decent aromor saves (SM being a good example). Also it only has 13" range...any opponent who is paying attention can easily avoid this with their tanks (I've never ran more then two at a time though). What is usually more effective against armor is loading the BW with nobs that way your range is now 21" and up to 27" if you waaaagh. That being said I still run two deffrolla in most lists, and have rammed the gak out of unsuspecting players. Which really makes me feel good inside.
