Why 3 Commissars each? You only need 1/ Blob That would Save you 270 points for Plasmas to complement your lascannons(225 pts)

The thing what I don't like about straken is firstly he's built for close combat, his command squad won't last in combat. Second he has a higher toughness, which he loses because of the majority toughness rule :( . You've got them geared up good, perhaps flamers would help to get in a few extra wounds?
Why power weaps and melta bombs when you have a lascannon which is a heavy weapon, you cannot fire it and then move.

You need 6's to plant melta bombs on walkers in close combat - you fancy those odds?

It's better than just sitting there taking a beating all game with no chance to fight back.

That's why you don't get in close combat in the first place, yeah? If you do not roll that 6 you will be taking a beating. You fancy the chance then?

With three guys with melta bombs, the chances aren't really that bad. Heck with those odds I'd assault a dreadnaught knowing full well that i'll kill it long before it can take out a blob squad. If a dred drop pods right next to you, it nice to know that you aren't automatically screwed if it assaults you. It makes the dreadnaught much less of a threat and allows you to focus on other things.

All sgt's have 5 melta bombs, not sure where you're getting 3 from unless I am mistaken. Admittly you've got better chances with higher numbers but you still need a 6 to plant the melta bomb, how many 6's you hoping to get out of 5 rolls?
If a dreadnought drop pods right by you then it cannot assault or move, besides run. So a cunning player would make movement to target the rear armour and blow it up rather than charge and pin your hopes than hoping to roll several 6's out of 5 charges. Remember, you only get one attack so that's 5 attacks and you only hit on a 6 plus, so not reliable. What you want is veterans with demos as you get 10 melta bombs

With melta bombds... you only need one hit to have a really good chance to penetrate it. I mixed up the 3 with the commissars (which are the guys I would give the melta bombs to). With 5 attacks, you have a 60% chance of getting at least one hit, which I would hardly consider unreliable. With 3 attacks, it drops to 42%, which still isn't bad considering you're going to be in that combat for awhile unless your opponent commits something else to it.
Move around to the rear of the dreadnought? I don't know where you're getting all this move to do that, unless IG got jump packs while i wasn't looking? Of course if you can get rear armor shots you take them, but that isn't always possible.
