Ok like it says on the tin, Ive got my eyes on the new Old guard miniatures (Victrix is it?), their 28mm but true scale. 20 Dollars gets you 52!? In Oslo we only have on GW store so I dont think it would be a social killer (Ie you cant use those in here bladda blah). Has anyone tried this? If so, how does the sizes mock up?
Thanks in advance!

I don't think you can use non-GW figures at GW Oslo, but you can of course use them at OMSK or at any tournaments, as GW isn't involved in any of them

Although a nice alternative for some kind of IG army or the like take into account that GW´s 28mm is "heroic" and that means oversized heads, weapons and hands while Vitrix Napoleonics will have (mostly) the correct proportions.

That wouldn't matter if you make the whole army out of the Victrix figures and substitute heads and weapons from non-GW sources where you need to.

Hi all.
As GW often use historical unitforms to inspire them with IG regiments , then I can't see why people shouldn't convert cheaper historical minatures to create thier own personalised army.
UNLESS they only play in a GW store , where they might insist you use GW minatures only.

Thanks guys, thinking of using a Forge world list, Death Korps, as my friend is doing the chaos traiters list with all sorts of guff. FOrge world bits, bits from 3rd party stuff, I think it will be fun.
For the record, I like the Old guards long coats, but not the shakoes, any recommends for decent heads?
Ill post up a more clear plan of action soon so you lovely people can /discuss.
Hmm, lovely people....

Take a look at the forthcoming SF Infantry in Greatcoats, Gasmasks and Helmets from Wargame Factory.
If you want separate heads (and weapons) look at the thread about conversion bits
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/260250.page
There are several alternative head systems around. You can usually buy a small number to test for style and fit before you make a big purchase.
