"Hello world" First we are talking about Tournament and Grand Tournaments, I am not interested in friendly games


I played codex marines,and there I was allowed to make my own chapter -my own colors etc.

In the Blood Angels codex am I allowed to make my own Chapter?-actually my own color theme?.I would like to paint all my troops in gold color(I just love the new models with wings-and I was thinking to make my whole army to look like that)-using them as assault marines-which count as troops here.
It is very important for a tournament.I want to make them all with jump pack and wings too look like a pack of angels led by an archangel

Bottom line-if I paint all my army gold am I allowed to play them as BA in Tournaments? or do I have to have my troops red,my tank's red,helmets blue for devastators etc.and only Dante and the Honor Guard gold with wings?

Yes, you can play them any colour you like.
Just stick to only using the rules from a single codex and making it clear which to your opponent, and you are good.

As long as your army uses the codex and your opponent knows it there should be no problems. Your models, your decision on how to paint them.

Seriuosly if you're sensible you can normally do an army which can be used by any of the marine books, just make it clear before hand, and try not to use things like thunderfire cannons as Libarian dreads etc.

As everyone has stated above me: the key is just choosing your codex. Once you do, you build your army according to that codex, and only that codex. Then you paint it WHATEVER COLOR YOU WANT. If you want pink and green Blood Angels, there ain't nobody that can stop you.

Unless of course GW decided to do something unusual and include a statement saying that Blood Angels must be painted red, possibly even specifically using GW paints...

GW's website says that they have to be painted red, after all.

Actually it is at the discretion of your TO. He doesn't have to allow your everymarine army to play, and he is allowed to penalize you too. His event, his rules and his whims.

In my experience, you either see quality everymarine lists that are really well done or the other extreme where they are horribly sloppy proxies and terrible to play against. Show your TO and if you made effort he will probably be ok with it.

I don't think the OP ever mentioned making an everymarine army. He mentioned making a gold BA army. Honestly, noone in their right mind would penalize someone for not painting in the correct color.

I have never seen a TO penalize, admonish, or disqualify anyone for doing what GW encourages which is to customize your army. Painting it a different scheme means almost nothing, especially in a situation where one of the colors being used in the new scheme is involved in the original. Gold is a tertiary color for BA armies reserved for trim or heroes. Again, as someone asked a while back and I replied.. you're not proxying, you're not playing counts as, you're using an alternate/inverted scheme and putting wings on a jump troop.

You would have to go seriously far to get censured at a tournament... like the above use of a TFC as a Librarian Dread or something horribly stupid. OR if it's obvious your intent is to use psychological warfare against an enemy like using Blood Angels, painted like Blood Angels, with Blood Angel crap written all over them, blood dripping off some Death Company painted marines, and you use the Black Templar rules that make it really hard for anyone to figure out what's going on... especially with your heroes. That's pretty crappy. Respect for your opponents is a good thing.

Hope it will work..stranger things have happend...

Every Marines has it's BA shoulderpads...but they complain for a buddy of mine (he made DA list.everyone in capes )-and the Holland organizer sad that you can not tell who is the devastator squad,who is the tactical squad and stern guard(even though tactical wear helmets,stergurad - nothing-just the face,and the devs got the special wepons in their hands)

If I do them all gold and with wings(assault squads-normal helmets,saguinary mask,veterans no mask,honor guard a combination-and different color shoulder pads for each squad-and for the captain I want the "exemplar host"-instead of grail i will put a plasma pistol-and maybe a chainsword-to not look the same)-the thing is I don't want to invest and not be able to go to tournaments...

Unless the wings are a specific piece of wargear for a specific unit and then it would be breaking WYSIWYG to add them to every model in the whole codex opposed to simply one unit, then it becomes proxies. If I tried to use stormboyz as Kommandos, my models probably wouldn't be welcome at a tourney. If someone tries to make a whole army out of those new Winged models but all the units don't have that wargear then expect problems at tournaments as they are proxies.

IMO WYSIWYG cant be done as games workshop doesnt release all war gear or models yet they still try to inforce it, I have an idea im going to paint a blue skinned ork army and see if i can use it at tourneys that would be fun.

It can be done, it just means you can't use certain models.

Wings are perfectly legit on the Sons of Sanguinius... their heraldry contains plenty of wing motifs, doesn't it?

i don't see anyone giving you any problems as long as you're not using UM or DA bits all over the place. the 40k fluff mentions forgotten foundings of space marines and has always supported home grown successor chapters to know founding ones. i could see someone docking you theme points if you use the models from one army and the rules from another but not disallowing you from playing.

Wing's don't do anything..they are just for decoration.I would have an all angel army-Led y an angel captain with jump pack and troops and elites with jump pack..that is alos..maybe not so competitive but still.
All my army will be made from only 1 box-sanguinary guard. BUT assault troops will have chainsword and bolt pistol(no other weapons their hands),Honor guard with boltgaun or melta gun etc. Each unit will have their own specific weapons to get the WYSIWYG.Shoulder pads will be different.But still the whole army painted gold,and made from one box

A blue tau army will be ok for me...or a blue ork army..I suppose

Yea, I kinda disagree. I played against the pink flowery necrons and a squat land train (speed freaks?!) at UKGT 2004. Flowers are decoration just like wings, and I much prefer wings to flowers.
My Black Templar were making horrified sounds coming out of the foam to face the flora inspired necrons. They are still WSYWIG. In short, as long as the wargear is correct, the wings can be decoration. Or he could replace only jump packs with wings and use them 'as jump packs' which again is usually admitted in tourneys.

If GW had you sign a contract etc etc, basically if people won't let you use something on the grounds of 'It's the wrong colour' they could be setting themselves up for a discrimination case.
