Lately, I keep reading and hearing things like: "this army is coming out soon" (e.g. Tomb Kings, Ogre Kingdoms, Necrons, Dark Eldar, etc), or "Warhammer 8th edition is coming out soon", and probably a bunch of other stuff that I don't remember. It seems to come up a lot, but it is really vague.

For example, I have been keeping an eye on the rumours for Tomb Kings, and for a long time people have been saying that they are going to be updated soon. Well, seeing as May is going to have new models for Orcs and Goblins, I don't see any Tomb King related stuff in the near future. The redshirts at my local GW keep mentioning that 8th edition is "gonna come out soon", but nothing as far as I know has been officially revealed, and I'm sure that releasing that will push back the Tomb Kings even more. (This assumption is based on the fact that they might update an army that goes in the starter set).

There's even the issue of the Tau "being updated soon", though with such a long queue of codices in dire need of updates, coupled with the fact that every second codex is made for a type of space marine.

So, what does soon mean to you?

Theres a good chance no one really knows whats coming next, the old gws is becoming secrtive about its junk, and less and less
of it are being presented. GWS works on a money, so the codex or army book that is bringing in the kiddies and making money
are most likely to be updated first. Thats just my opinion btw

Someone long ago had a list that has been incredibly accurate (I'm too lazy to dig it up now - it's buried under hundreds, if not thousands, of posts by now). If I remember right, the next one on that list was Tau, but who knows, really.

That its just over the hill out of view.....but its there teasing me thats what sooooon is for me.

Soon= Dangling carrot on a stick,nothing more-nothing less.
