HALLO DAKKA! When i read the boomguns profile i realized that i needed a looted wagon for my army (and it sounded cool too!) but when i saw that there was no looted wagon model i had to make a conversion.So i got the guts (and manned up!) to start my very first conversion. I originally was going to use a sentinel but when i couldnt find it i used the second best thing, a tau pirahna.

Please criticize me and give me suggestions. I am still thinking how to make my boomgun, any ideas?

Personally, I'd remove the Tau gun and put in a good ol' reliable ork weapon.

Well it's sad to see a Piranha fall to the Orks, but nice job.

I totally agree. Your conversion is awesome (and I don't guarantee I won't do something similar!)...I'd get some warbike dakka guns and strap them onto the nose in typical Ork fashion. Great stuff!

sounds like a good idea. i may not have a dakka bike, but i think a deffgun will work! Prob will give it other additions so it can be a boomgun status gun. thanks!

It doesn't look "looted" so much as it looks like it was smashed up and hijacked by an Ork. Stick some Orky glyphs, dags, teef, shootas, and whatnot on that thing and make it a Warbuggy or something. What you have is actually really cool, you just need to take the Orky idea a little further.

Make two little orky turrets (bottle tops can be good for this) and mount gretchin with Shootas is them- keeps the tau idea but orkifies it!

Agree with the warbuggy idea. I think it's to small for a looted wagon.

Like the conversion but te paint job needs some work.

Looking for a idea for a proper Big Mek Warbike and think this might be it.

I cut off the happy tau gun and added part of a deffgun's shooty bitz, gave him a bosspole so the other boyz know who da boss iz! And i added little details to be moar orky tho im thinking of adding a bit more too. so pictures away wee! oh and i made big shoota drones too!

my lootas hurt the tau engines so much da mek had to give it a new one...yeah something like that

More random bitz of plasticard slapped on in random spots maybe make one wing longer than the other or make the wing tips pointy.
Paint a big ole WAAAGHH!!! on the side of it or GORK AND MORK symbol painted in blood on it and make it look dirty!
Usually when we did this kinda stuff in fantasy we would slap bit of broken wood on it to make it look more orcie but that doesn't work so much with 40k.

I just donno which ork vehicle :/ It's got too many guns on it for a warbuggy/trakk now, yet it can't hold 12 guys, so it can't be a looted wagon either...

Really nice conversion you have there mate, quite often you see looted vehicles which just dont work, but the orky bitz fit really well and the paint job sets the whole thing off nicely. If you were to add any more bitz then some patched armour repairs always look good on ork stuff, also maybe you could add the grot from the bikerz kit hanging onto the banner pole for his life?

That looks good, but Id hack chunks out of a few spots, and add some patch plates here and there. Right now it looks like a Tau vehicle with some Ork weapons. Its pretty good so far though, a few tid bits and itll rock

@Dysturbed: imo that sounds a bit over kill and i dont think im going to have room for the gork and mork part. maybe under the wings, it sounds pretty cool.

@starbomber: well it is meant to be a looted wagon with a boomgun. luckily i didnt glue the two drones so i can take them out and use my guy as a warbuggie/trukk(/ huge deffkopta?). im still thinking of how the boomgun should be like.

No pictures this time since the batteries died and i need to buy new ones. i added some deffkopta wings on the back so that my wagon doesnt have to keep facing up all the time. i painted the rokkit grot from the stormboyz pack but anyone know where his and is supposed to hang from?


and now my big question: any ideas for a boomgun? i cant find anything that fits for him...you guys think that the tarantula missile launcher would work or does it have to be bigger? any suggestion would work to keep my brain flowing

Sweet ride what about putting gretchin in little gun turrets instead of the drones. But loving it.

But in all seriousness, I like this. You don't often see Tau or Eldar things looted, as most Ork players I've seen go for the rather old (but tried, tested and true) idea of looting a leman russ, a baneblade or what have you. You're treading on new ground, and you did it fabulously.

@thesilverback: right now lots of people are suggesting grots but i just dont feel like adding them. i still got to make a converted battle wagon, so i think ill put the grots there.

im pretty sure im going to be done for now. i might add or fix the paint job a bit but not much, so unless you guys are REALLY against the boombgun i think this is about it.

Boomgun looks great to me! I think this works best as a boomgun wagon, though there's something to be said for converting it as a transport. Imagine some metal plating layed down on the wings with grab-rails and 'alf a dozen Ork boyz piled on each side.

Feels like that rounded part in the front could use some teef, be it painted or plastic. It's hard to over-do Orkiness.
