It does look good (perhaps not the most awesome ever by GW) and unique. I'd like to know how the armor's done, too- especially if it's not done using metallics.

Not that I'll be able to replicate it, of course

That look NMM (non metal metal) to me

(a tutorial on NMM, in french of course. )

Don't let the french text stop you from looking at french site.
Their painting skills are ridiculously high...

I'd say it's nmm too.
White dwarf 353 has a nmm article on painting the Games Day chaos warrior.
I'm sure they touched on it more recently too I just can't find the issue.
I'm gonna take a punt at Darren Latham.

Edit: or perhaps Joe Tomaszewski.

I'd actually guess that it's NMM techniques used with metallic paint.

Well, I suppose the technique for doing metallic metals isn't all that different from painting with NMMs- or anything other kind of paint for that matter.

This pic looks like NMM done extremely well (better than most- and with very precise color choices). I believe the things that look like reflections in the armor were painted on.

Of couse, you can get similar results by doing a lot of very precise work with your metallic colors. And I wouldn't put it past the GW painters to paint reflections into their Metallic Metal.

Or course, the image could be painted in photoshop... but that's pretty unlikely, right?
