Hey guys! I'm about to take part in a Kill-Team event soon and would like to know what you guys think of this rule:

On page 91 of the Battle Missions book there's a special rule called Every Man For Himself which states that: "All models operate as individual squads for this mission... In addition, when a model shoots or fights in an assault it may split its attacks up amongst any eligible targets if desired."

This rule makes perfect sense in an assault, but what about shooting? Can my marine with a heavy bolter fire at three different models, or am I limited to firing all three shots at one model?

Thanks for any help.

The model can split up both, shooting and CC attacks.

What does everyone else think about having to start everything on the table?

What do you do with drop pods, spore mines, lictors?

Do you allow infiltrators?

Can orks use the mob rule for leadership test when required to see if you lose the game?

Thanks,

Me and a few friends are starting a kill team league soon and we're establishing some ground rules one army book at a time. So far we've touched on Orks, CSM, and Space Wolves unit by unit.

For Orks' mob rule, we're allowing it to still take effect despite each model will act separately if the purchased mob follows the according rules to establish mob. So for a mob to be Fearless, all you have to buy is the correct amount of boyz.

Each squad will follow their said army book rules, retaining all benefits and drawbacks.

We're pondering the use of anything with an armor value though since this will dramatically enhance certain army squad selections.

If you'd like, I can PM or email you our ideas so far.

How I play it:

They can all enter the table normally

Do you allow infiltrators?
Yes

Can orks use the mob rule for leadership test when required to see if you lose the game?
Well, for starters, you just made me lose . To answer your question-no, Our group plays it as the Mob rule effect doesn't work. You're not so bold when only a few of your ladz are still backing you up!

Thanks,

Any time.

Sounds great, I would love to hear what you have already have, bd1085. I have played 7 kill team games in the last 2 days and it has been a blast.

I did end up playing an Ork player with about 20+ boyz. It was nuts he even out numbered me with nids. I have having a tough time trying to figure out a way to beat it because the boyz just destroyed my gaunts.

I also have fought just 5 terminators as well and that was interesting. The toughest thing I went against would probally be a furious dread and a landspeeder. If you don't have any high strength weapons your out of luck. Lucky, I had a hive guard and was able to take him down before he got to me.

With my group of friends I hope to get a big kill team tourny going. We had a really small one last night and it was a blast. It is really hard to come up with a balanced list to fight the diffrent races.

By entering normally, do you mean allowing the drop pod to deep strike or just setting it in your deployment zone ?

Also if you allow it to deepstrike is that with models in it, or just empty?

Based on the wording of the killteam mission it seems unit upgrades like commissars, PF/PK wielders, and so on become pretty poor choices; a PF sergeant you can't hide from shooting or attack allocation is somewhat useless if you ask me. And since it states that models "operate as indivual units", it sounds like the commissar can only make himself stubborn as he isn't in a unit with anybody.

And for the record, my favorite kill team so far is 5 bloodcrushers. You'll mop the floor with anyone who isn't a walker...
