so here it is this is the first draft of the list and my first look at the codex so all c&c is welcome
nercon army list
nercon lord 100 + warscythe 10 + destoryer body 30 + resurrection orb 40 + phase shifter 30 = 210
10 warriors 180
10 warriors 180
2 wraiths 82
3 destoryers 150
tomb spider 55
2 heavy destoryers 130
so if its ok tell me if its rubbish just say

Plus it's fairly credible that a GW marketing campaign for their biggest release would fit on one side of A4 - Flashman

I would suggest reducing the cost of your necron lord because he eats up almost 1/4 of your total points and is not that scary.

Ditto. I'd suggest maybe dropping the Phase Shifter and the Warscythe - hopefully he won't need either of them anyway!

Also, Wraiths really work best in units of 3. 2 are a little bit too fragile on their own, and if you're planning on sending the Lord in with them, that leaves the destroyers rather vulnerable WBB-wise. Given the rest of the force, I'd suggest maybe leaving them for higher point games and going for more warriors/destroyers, bump up the Phase Out limit and firepower a bit =)

Looking for fun articles on painting, tactics and wargaming? Are you after a new regular blog to follow? Are you a bit bored with nothing better to do?

If the answer to any of the above is 'well, I guess' you could probably do worse than read my blog! Regular wargaming posts, painting and discussions

What I would do is drop the warscthe and the phase on the lord. Drop the wraiths and just go with scarab swarms.

This is good.... isn't it?

I may just be imagining this, apologies if I am, but isn't there a 100pt cap on the amount of wargear the lord can have?

Tantras: you are not imagining anything, but the Warsythe is not part of that wargear so you can put 110 pts worth of crud on a lord.

28 "necrons", you will phase out after losing 21 of them; that is all the warriors and a destroyer.

The heavy Destroyer is often regarded as superfluous or redundant to the regular destroyers. They go down just as easy and you can get more glancing hits out of the basic destroyers than you can get penetrating hits from the heavy.

I agree that the Destroyer-lord is just too expensive

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Ahh, thanks Kel, I would've been scratching my head over that until I got home tonight and checked.

Yes, I agree also. I would back the spending of such a large amount of points if the Lord was a force to be reckoned with, but the sad reality is this; he's not. Relative to most other HQ units from most other codices, he's a bit of a joke. His Warscythe is really powerful, until you realise that the Lord himself is only WS4 and the chances of him landing enough hits to save himself from retribution in combat against anything butch enough to have an invulnerable save anyway, is slim.

Give him a Res Orb and stick him in with some warriors, save the points.

A fine beginning.

Control the cost of lord. An orb is enough.

And you'd better take some scarabs. You should avoid any melee combat for your Necron units. Scarabs could be a screen for those necron units.

Right thanks for giudes guys
so heeres a new list
lord 100 + res orb 40 = 140
11 warriors 198
11 warriors 198
11 warrior 198
3 destoryers 150
5 scarb swarms 60
tomb spider 55
so what you think i took the wargaer off the lord and got rid of the wraiths and heavy destoryers
my only worry is that there is not alot of anti-tank in it

Plus it's fairly credible that a GW marketing campaign for their biggest release would fit on one side of A4 - Flashman
