The new Sanguinary gaurd are really nice models, but I am collecting nurgle. To over-come this predicament I was thinking about advance ordering some and slice of the blood-angels icons. Then I paint them a rusted, corroded colour instead of gold and use mutated heads:

I don't see why you couldn't do this,I've converted SM terminators (AoBR) into Death Guard terminators and they look fine.
Just file off any "loyalist" icons/symbols,add a few GS pustules,etc,and paint in a suitably disgusting fasion.

What are you going to do for the heads, using the original BA heads and convert them, or use some completely different heads?

A note on GW metal shoulder pads -
I've found that they are a tiny bit smaller than the std plastic ones. You only notice it when you have a mini with one metal pad & one plastic pad - it looks damn weird.

I might add greenstuff and horns onto some of the heads that come with the boxed set, and then use some mutated heads as well. I also found out a great way to do nurgle corrosion, get devlan mud and add some baking powder into it, (look at link to you tube at the top it is a grat nurgle video).

Some of the heads of the mutation sprue are great for a nurgley conversion if you use a little GS. You're right to mix the original- converted heads and the mutated heads.

I think it would be really cool if you used the face of a masked heads to make a mask hanging on one of the model with a mutated heads' chest (like "See what's behind my mask? Well now, guess whats behind my friends' ones")

When do you think you'll get these nice guys started?

Probably straight after they come into the store because I nearly have all the money to get all of the bitz. Once i got every thing I will get a Painting and modelling blog up and running to show off some of my other projects as well because I consider my self as quite a good painter, and I have won a few painting competitions.

I am also going to be converting up some chaos terminators to be in my plaguemarine army. I will start by cutting off the horns and re-placing them with re-breather tubes. So if anybody has any chaos terminators that are un-painted I would happily trade some:Orks,Goblins,or dwarves for them. Also I am looking for a forge world deathguard dreadnought.
