I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but I've neglected to look up any info on this topic until now.

Does anyone have a preferred way to strip down models? I recently got a couple Salamanders and a Slann for dirt cheap, but the paint job is border line terrible. I wanted to start over again. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

If they're primed in white, you'll get the paint off but the white GW primer is stuck in it. I personally use Castrol SuperClean... Also, there's a verrrrrrry long and comprehensive article on this, look it up.

This is one of the most common modelling discussions...

Castrol Superclean and Simple Green general cleaner are by far the best options.

You'll find countless articles on stripping if you do a search of the forums, and there's at least one comprehensive article in the Dakka Articles section.

I used to use Simple Green for stripping and it worked pretty well but gave my army a fresh pine scent =/

If you are in the states, check out a product called Purple Power. Its more concentrated than Simple Green and doesnt have an odor to it. Cheaper too.
