Ok, so this is probably a naive question with an obvious answer, but I simply can't find the answer in my codex and the issue has come up more than once. So for a troops choice a single infantry platoon must consist of at least: 1 PCS and 2 infantry squads. Now my question is to each of those squads count as an individual unit towards kill points or does the entire platoon have to die before granting a kill point to the opponent? I've always assumed that if the entire platoon counts as a single troops choice and is rolled for collectively when rolling for reserves it in its entirety is a kill point and if so when it comes to shooting and assaulting do all the components then have to target the same unit? This is what threw me off because I was certain that each infantry squad can work autonomously from each other. So does that mean they themselves can give up a kill point each and therefore my 5 man PCS grants its own kill point? Clarification anyone?

Each part of a platoon is a kill point, unless you blob up infantry squads.

They count as multiple KP. I'll let someone else explain exactly why and how and link to the MASSES of other threads we have had on this topic, as it's 530am and I'm going to bed.

In short: They are Multiple KP, a Platoon is worth between 2 and 20 KP (2KP for a PCS and 2 Infantry Squads Blobbed together and 20KP for a Max Platoon with Chimeras up the Wazzo).
