i was messing around with the gallery on my profile and was just wondering how the pics are tagged, if people can see them or not, how the votes work, and where i should place WIP and completed things. i dont wana screw anything up so can someone just give me the rundown?

Unfortunately, I'm not very gallery savvy (see how few votes I've put in  ) and have been still stuck in my old ways of using photo bucket.
I'd like to know more about gallery use, too

Hello - and Welcome!
So, basically, YES everyone can see your pics and vote on them, tagging helps identify them and helps people find what they're looking for when searching and you can place ANY wargaming related pics in there, WIP or otherwise.

Welcome to Dakka!! Where the gallery is king!
Folder wise, you can upload your images and sort them into folders.
Or if you upload your images in a certain thread (like my big green desk blog) then that thread title becomes your folder title!
The gallery is great, don't be scared to tinker around, its one of dakkas greatest strengths.

thanks for the info, i was messing around with it before and i think i understand the structure, you can create albums and tag them and the pics you can contain. i like that because i can sort the pics of all my different armies without it becoming a huge file mess. check out what i have uploaded now, its all IG stuff i did last year, but thats all i had on my com atm, i need to dust off the old camera
