Ok i play a nid army and i have the ability to field about 1850 points, tops. When i play at my local GW and local gaming centres i'm coming across more and more Ork armies. Out of my last 10 friendly games, 6 of them have been against orks. Why is everybody going Ork crazy all of a sudden? Is it because of the new ork codex, or the awesome new models.

?

ITZ BECUZ DA BOYZ IZ DA BESTEST! Seriously though, Orkz are probably the most fun army to play as in 40K. I can't think of one that is more fun personally.

How is it they live in such harmony - the billions of stars - when most men can barely go a minute without declaring war in their minds about someone they know.

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

JEB hit it on the nose. Also though as you mentioned models are cool and they just got new plastic Kanz and Dread. The ork codex has been out for quite some time though IIRC 2007. Another reason is for their competitive codex. You can run some pretty off the wall lists and still be competitive.

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

New kans and dreads that are awesome, the battlewagon/deffrolla ruling seem to have put some pep back in the orks' steps. Plus, they are still one of the easiest armies to acquire, thanks to the AoBR box set. Frankly, I'm envious. As an ork player, I NEVER run into other orks; it's 70-80% Marine chapters around where I play.

I would completely agree. They are probably the funnest army to play, one of the easiest to play, the models look cool, and they are readily available for cheap. I can honestly say that i did pretty good at a 500 pt tournament with an army straight out of the AoBR set with the exception of a added pain boy. So they are pretty easy to play.

I completely agree. The new models have breathed life back into the orkz, and the deffrolla gives us the one thing that we were missing, the ability to kill AV14.

@Skarboy: If you want to go against orkz all you have to do is ask.

Ok, heres the thing. I don't play 40K. I play Orks. They just happen to be in 40K.

This is why I will never be free of the shackles of GW.

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. When human beings are governed by "thou shalt not", the individual can practise a certain amount of eccentricity: when they are supposedly governed by "love" or "reason", he is under continuous pressure to make him behave and think in exactly the same way as everyone else.

Orks are just fun because with some of ork equipment, are never quite sure how its going to work. And you can really just have fun with them. Orks is the bestest.

Eastern Frontier Exploratores
224th Astra Legion (main army)
628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)

With Orks, you can just trust to their brutality to get the job done. And they OWN Tyranids!

they dont own nids, nids would just drop mycetic spores with gaunts and carnifexes in until they're dead. anyway, the orks are the funnest, wackiest, humourous race to play. and the new models own. i took one look at them and thought "dred mob led by warboss in big dred!"
