I'm getting to much shine on my ork warboss model. I'm not sure if its the paint, wash or both. Anyone know any tips on how to dull it out. Specifically its his cape and arms that i wanna reduce the shine on.

When you finish painting, get a dull coat/matte finish to seal the model. Will take care of the shine with ease.

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

What type of paint are you using? Not enamel right? (don't use enamel).

GW / Vallejo / P3 / Reaper Master are all naturally dull / matte paints.

The GW washes do tend to give a slight shine, but that is still marginal.

You could try adding 'matte medium' to your paints before applying; you could also apply a matte varnish or dull-coat to the model after it's finished.

Shake up your washes first. With Thrakka Green especially, this keeps it from coming out shiny, and leaves a nice little bit of turquoise in any recesses you wash.

I can solve your problem, TURN THE LIGHTS OFF!!!!

In answer to your question shake/stir everything before use, use many watered down layers (thick paint can somtimes be shiny) and use a matt spray when you are finished. Hope i helped.

Yep, paint or spray on a matte varnish. That'll make it more realistic and not like he just came out of the shower (SoB, maybe, but Orks? They don't shower, duh!)

If you dont want to use varnish you can also use matt medium on your fig they will keep their tones and will get a matt finish if you diluted too much it will give a satin finish
