OK this might be a nooby question but can you fire weapons other that the lasguns in the gun emplacements on the side of the chimera from inside the chimera

the codex says:

Five models can fire from the Chimeras top hatch. in reality several are firing from the fixed lasgun emplacements along either flank, but for simplicity we assume all shots to be taken from the hatch

does this mean that I can burn the orks with fire from inside the chimera or only fire lasguns at them

Yes, 5 Weapons of whatever you want. You can fire 4 Meltas and a Laspistol for Example.

Interestingly, you are also allowed to fire heavy weapons from heavy weapon teams (if you did not move) and four other weapons, since the Chimera rules refer to models, not to actual soldiers doing anything.

Well, using "fixed lasgun emplacements" You can even fire artillery rounds from batteries parked many miles away from the gameboard
