Hi! I just played a few games with my new army of Daemons of Chaos. I use a Herald on a Chariot of Khorne. I play fews games with and it rock!

But, in one game someone charge my chariot with cavalry and a question come to my mind... Did he can target my Herald on the chariot individualy from the chariot, because on the rulebook it said you can target heros or the chariot itself with the crew. But the Chariot of Khorne is only riding by a Herald, so if the Herald died did the chariot also die or you have to only attack the chariot?

When someone shoot on a chariot you have to roll a D6 and on a 1-5 it's the Chariot who take the hit, and 6 the heros. It's specificily said, but it's the same question came, if the Herald die, did the chariot also die?

So, my question can sound a little bit confused but did the chariot is considered as a mount at the same as cavalry, so you can't attack the mount or it's considered as a monster so you can choose wich one you want to target?

The rulebook and the codex of Daemons have not really answered my question for this (as usual...), so what do you thing?

Grrr.... Cheese make me fart...

1) YOu can attack the herald seperately.

2) When the Herald is dead the chariot continues on with no crew

Nothing states the chariots dies, so it doesnt. Essentially all furhter shots dont randmise any longer either.

Hi QC,

Page 64 of the English rulebook has most of the answers you need. Check out the second paragraph under Characters & Chariots. It states that:

"In close combat, enemies can choose whether to attack either the chariot or the character riding it, in the same manner as combat against characters riding monsters".

Treat it like a monster and you won't be too far off.

RZ

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

So, if the Herald die you have to take a monster test to see what happen after? So, the chariot is a monster that sound good and it make sens, but why they just didn't mention it on the codex ? That could be easier to resolve problem after! Considering that the chariot in the background is a kind of monster of metal and brass with a soul that make sens to be a monster

No, because the chariot is NOT a monster - you only treat it as such in order to allocate attacks.

Ok, but I want to know what to do if the Herald die, did the chariot die also? or it just continue whitout any problem, but who driving it if the chariot is not remove? That really a weird situation to see a chariot driving by himself...

Yeah, it looks like a slight oversight in the rules. Normally with most characters who can purchase a chariot as an upgrade there is a crewman driving the chariot. The Herald doesnt have crewman as part of is chariot. As per the rules on chariots it would keep driving cause look at it this way, even with no one on the reins a Juggernaut of Khorne is still going to want to charge into enemies whether its attached to a chariot or not.
