Do you think Dark Eldar need a new codex and new models?
In my opinion, they need that urgently, because they are so cool and I think they would be nice in a Dawn of War II expansion.

No, I've seen it. I have a friend who plays Eldar even! No way they should get a new codex so soon. Not even Marines get that!

I honestly hope your either joking or didn't read the topic header.

That being said...
Yes,Dark Eldar definatly need new models & after 10+ years, I would say it's time for a new codex,Though be careful what you wish for DE players,a new codex may be worse than the codex your using now.

Now that Jes Goodwin has sculpted all the new models, I want to see and buy them and read more than the existing 5 pages of DE background

@ Power Cosmic: You know the difference between Eldar and Dark Eldar, right? And that Dark Eldar didn't get new miniatures since first release 1998 (and only a slightly corrected Codex reprint 2003)?

Between Alpha and Omega, and a little to the left

This whole "I won't play them because they have a outdated codex/awful models" is an extremely vicious cycle. They get no love from the players, so they get no love from GW. the whole "They just like regular Eldar" doesn't help either.

They need new models, but they are low on the priority list for a new codex (Compared to others, mind you). Dark Eldar are still very competitive at my FLGS; one DE player managed to bring a 5e Nid player (Whose 4e Nid armies had won him 1st place in several tournaments and leagues) to his knees, managing to pull off a draw. Just about any other player, he would have won; the point is, he managed to get a draw off of a veteran Nid player.

New Models? Definitely.

New Dex? YES. It is true that it is old but as others have pointed out it is still competitive. However, one competitive build does not make a codex viable. To draw a comparison, CSM only has one tournament caliber list according to the beardy gamers and that is an often quoted reason (among many others) for wanting a new dex. So, just because there is a single competitive build does not mean the desire for a new dex is unreasonable.

The army is sound, it needs a 'dex update and NEW FIGURES to make people want to buy it, though.

A box of new Warriors alone would be enough to boost DE sales by 200%.

Yeah, the two people that play DE would run out and buy boxes so, yeah, 200% increase. :-)
Sorry, couldn't resist.

They need a new dex and to get rid of those nasty/ugly figs but unless they're really selling they won't get any love from GW. Why do you think we have so many marine codexes? They sell.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

I want either an update ASAP, or squat them, and make use of the concept of a fast, hard hitting fist of glass with a really alien type race, rather then this 'elves in space' crap.

I think there should be another option or two in the poll. I don't particularly like them, but I still think they deserve a new release.
