This is another one of these “I have told this Rule, but When I look for it I cant find it Rule”.

Can a Independent Character with the “Cavalry” unit type [Example: Canis Wolfborn], join a “Infantry” Type? [Example Blood: Claws]

I have been told you can’t mix, but I cant Find the rule.

They can mix just fine. They are just limited to the speed of the slowest model.

I remember reading somewhere that IC's can join other IC's- you can have a whole unit of IC'S!

I was asking this becouse I have Canis, but not enough Wovles and TWC to make up real units, so I think I am going to have he lead one of my BC units with a Wolf Priest

IC's cannot join any unit that only ever consists of a single model.

So for example: Thraka could not join up with Mad Dok; but both of those IC's could join a Boyz mob (at the same time if desired). A Tyranid Prime could join a unit consisting of a single Carnifex, since a Carnifex brood can have between 1 and 3 models in the unit; but the Prime couldn't join a Tervigon as it only ever consists of a single model in the unit.

In the Thraka/Mad Dok example you give, if they're both ICs they can join each other, as joining another IC is the exception to the 'units consisting of one model' bit.

Seconding don thou, you know in the first paragraph of ICs and joining.
It's interesting because using that wording one could (wrongly) conclude that an IC is not considered a unit in game terms.

Errm. IC's Joining other IC's is the one exception to not being able to join "units always of 1 model". It's VERY specifically stated too.

Thanks for the quick reply I had never really thought about it but I couldn't quite remember a rule stating explicitly they couldn't
