I've just purchased the following components to create a wood elf spellsinger on unicorn. Hopefully the unicorn is the right scale, it's 2.5" high and 3" long, which seems about right since it is rearing up on its hind legs.







I'll probably be looking to comission this to be painted once I've received all the components and made sure it fits together how I want it to . I'm also thinking I will bend the spellsinger's sword arm forward, since right now it looks like she's too much "all in one plane" like older models tend to be.

Ideas / thoughts / comments welcome

I received the unicorn in the mail today! Still waiting on the rider and base, as soon as I've received them I'll snap some photos and then send this out to be painted

The unicorn is flirting with being too large, but I think it works well- it's a 65 point monstrous mount, rather than a 12 point elven steed, so it deserves to be bigger! And I think the scale looks alright.

Will post up pics with the rider asap

I received the final item in the mail today, here's a pic of everything together:



Standing next to a standard elven steed, the unicorn does look a bit large (but it's monstrous mount, after all!) but I think it fits in well with my noble on great stag, which is pretty big and helps this guy blend in.

Next step- having it painted on commission!!

Looking cool , and the scale seems ok as well. I still have the old Marauder HE mage though, so I'm not stuck for unicorns

I actually had the old HE mage on unicorn, too, but unfortunately sold it off on ebay as part of a larger lot... what was I thinking!? I could have stripped it, put this rider on it, and been ready to go!

However, I like the pose of this unicorn model a lot, and I think it will still be OK for me to use where I play, since the rider is GW (and the horse is just a pewter figurine).

First of all my apologies for commenting on an older post ( I wouldnt under normal circumstances!)

The reason for me commenting on this post is that I have recently begun to build up a wood elf army. Since moving house I've unearthed a whole load of relics and one of them is a wood elf spellsinger/weaver and its the same one thats featured in this conversion (just with a regular horse with it rather than a unicorn). Basically its been buried in a box for countless years and has acquired a somewhat impressive amount of dust. Cleaning will fix it up but it may take a little time. I only really want to spend the time sorting it if the spell singer is female, my reason being that in the background info it suggests that females are often stronger due to their connection with Ariel. Therefore my question is; is the spell singer definately female because due to the combination of dim lighting in my flat today and the countless years worth of dirt covering it, I really cant tell! Would appreciate the heads up
