The daemonic assault rule for the Daemon army, can any unit assault after deep strike? I've got my first game against Daemons this weekend and just wondering.

Also any tactics? I'll be taking Eldar or possibly Tyranids.

Not unless you're playing Planetstrike.

As above: they have no special allowances on assaulting, therefore they cannot do so.

I saw the play tests of normal games where tehy could assault after deepstriking. Brutal. AV13 walkers in combat with anything they wanted to turn 1. Of course a bad scatter messed them up, but it still does now...

If you're eldar mech up and don't deploy on the board.

But basically lots of multi shot weaponry, low ap makes little difference

Ok great. Kinda sucks to be daemons then, deep strike each unit (which could scatter) and then get shot up next turn - bummer for them but good for me!

My eldar is all mech, been thinking of going second so the daemons deep strike in and just stand there and then next turn I gun them down. That's my plan anyway.

My opponent likes khorne so I think he will be taking a khorne army. I know he has bloodletters, bloodthirster and mentioned about a soul grinder.

I've looked at the daemons codex and it appears all khorne tough units can have 3+ iron hide save and 5+ invulnerable, though the other ones are 5+ invulnerable. Also not all of them have fleet and no frags!?

Nope, no fleet, no frags.

Bloodcrushers can be fairly tough, and S5 power weapons (S6 ont he charge) hurt, but theyre slow so easy to avoid.

Yes, making them cavalry would have been too brutal, so its a balance thing. I think theyre considered to be "too slow and lumbering"

Needless to say they are "fast" in WHFB with a movement of 7....

Yes it did say that in the codex.

One thing to watch for is those monstrously large bases can actually give them a surprisingly big threat radius.
