The theme is a heavy recon group, based on some of the organisation charts in IA1. The only thing I'm concerned about is whether I have enough melta - the extra armour on the meltavet chimerae is specifically to give them the best chance of getting to an armoured target quickly and the devildog is fast anyway, but is this enough?
I did think about losing all the pintle weapons, extra armour, OotF and bodyguard to squeeze out enough points for a second devildog but I think I'd lose more than I'd gain. The other option is to exchange a flamer squad for a third melta squad (they cost the same) but that only gives me one unit capable of clearing cover and I'd prefer the redundancy.

Any thoughts?

For 1500p I think you have enough melta.

My only critique would be against the armoured sentinels, they are costly compared to tanks that put out the same amount of shooting. Since you have Heavy slots over, maybe look at the multi-plasma-tank instead? Or consider cheapening them to light sentinels. Outflanking autocannons or multilasers are nice to hunt side armor with.

The main reason for the armoured sentinels was so that I had front AV12 across the board - I like the lighter sentinels but AV10 seems such a liability - especially if you need to tarpit a CC unit with them (on the other hand outflank is a great asset to have, I'll have to proxy them and test both ways)

The tank is out, though - partly because it doesn't fit the theme but mainly because on its own it has a huge bullseye across it! One of the main stategies I was hoping to employ was to swamp my opponent with so many similar targets that prioritising them becomes difficult.

Target saturation was a point that I hadn't thought about, but it is a very good one. My three regular hive guards and three zoanthropes would feel very inadequate facing this lineup :-)
