hey Dakka...

my latest mini is up for votes over on CMON:

http://coolminiornot.com/245919

i painted this girl for the Darkson Designs Painting Guide Vol. 2...
it really slowed down the painting process, taking all the WIP stage pics...
inspired by the concept art, this was a cool scheme to bring to life...
i got to use my favorite color, the OOP GW paint, Scaly Green...

my first Soda Pop mini!!!
these are some fun sculpts...
very tiny, but great anime style, well worth the effort...
the pics make her look way bigger than she really is, but show off the detail better...

here she is at actual size:

and here she is at show-off size:

i have a feeling that these pics will not score well, and that some people will absolutely hate this mini...
oh well...
i'm off to finish my next Space Marine...

thanks for lookin'...

cheers

Another great job mon.

The face is throwing me off a little though; it looks lopsided though i can't tell if that's the mini or your paintjob. Given the quality of your other work, i'll assume it's the mini

Not a fan of the GW style painting.

This model is very "soft" and the style makes it look weird.

Looks very. The skin tone is very good. Cola is my favorite part of it.

M: "You are the universe, alpha and omega, the beast with a thousand young, do what thou whilt shall be the whole of the law. NOW GO FORTH AND MUTILATE!!"

"Samus. That's the only name you'll hear. Samus. It means the end and the Death. Samus. I am Samus. Samus is all around you. Samus is the man beside you. Samus will gnaw upon your bones. Look out! Samus is here."

thanks, everybody...

my photo-fu really failed on this one, as everything is a little softer in real life...
hopefully Rob over at Darkson Designs will do a better job with the editing than i did...

@LunaHound: the style is a copy of the color concept art...
i don't see how the concept is any "softer" than my paintjob, but without seeing the mini in real life with the card, there is no way for you to see what i mean...

Well, there seems to me to be a lot of solid hard black lines in places where the transition could stand to be more smooth.

That said, neat job! I like it, I think you nailed all the highlights and made it look nice enough.

Though taking a look at the HUEG eyes I'm not sure if I wanna buy this model. Anime eyes just don't look good on a metal figure no matter how good you can paint.

it's the pics...
what looks like blackline on candy is actually P3 Sanguine Base, which is maroon...
the darklining on the fox was done with P3 Battlefield Brown, like GW Scorched Brown...

i rather like the eyes that were sculpted on this girl, but that is purely a matter of personal taste...
this is definitely a love or hate mini...

cheers
