My local store is having a 2v2 tournaments.
I have been looking through codex's and have notice in the Imperial Guard Codex it states that orders can be given to "select a single friendly non-vechicle unit within his command radius to carry out the order."

My question is whether you can use these orders for say a teamed up space marine squad since, if there on your team there considered friendly. And aslong as the squad is within the radius given to the specific officer.

Depends on whoever's running the game. Typically allied armies can't benefit from eachother's rules.

The IG FAQ also says that Orders can't be given to allied Inquisitional forces, so that's another strike at giving them to Space Marines.

Even more than this, the FAQ answer you refer to actually specifically states that orders can only be issued to units from the IG Codex.

And even more to that:
FAQ aren't rules.

In any case, 2v2 games have no real rules for them anyway, so it's up to you to agree whether or not they work.

Why, if I may ask? I have been saying this for the past year now, and is available for all to see on the GW Website.

FAQ are not rules. Errata Are.

Ah yes, the Faq that Gw borrowed from you like you borrowed from various users on the forum here.

But thats another topic for another thread.

Have a good night Gwar!

Actually GW themselves state that their FAQ aren't rules. And it's not like Gwar (or occasionally another user) doesn't say it at least once a day, so I fail to see the surprise about it.

Kinda Devils advocate here;
FAQ Are RAI, but not RAW. and this is the one place where you, Gwar, have to admit the RAW is NOT RAI as evidenced by the authors/designers opinions on what exactly RAI is.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

I would have agreed with you at one point, but since it is clear the Authors don't bother to write the FAQs anymore, I have to question if they wrote any of them.

Kommissar Kel - that proposition is only true if you can prove the Codex Authors wrote the FAQs.

Not only is there no evidence to support this, there is some evidence against it...
