does anybody knows how malekith turned towards darkness?
i mean he lost the throne, found the circlet of iron... and then what????

Er.... who's malekith?

he's the king of the dark elves.

Ah, now it all makes sense... I owned and read through the high elf army book, but haven't purchased the dark elf one yet. It did talk about his story pretty extensively in the high elf book, too, though...

Basically, he is touched by chaos. His mother, Morethai, was corrupted before he was even concieved, it was inevitable.

But the specific incident which really turned him? When his father, King Aenerion, was killed another king was chosen... and it wasn't Malekith. But that king 'was weak and allowed chaos cults to flourish.' (Granted, Morethai probably had more to do with that than anyone else.) Then Malekith tried to take over. When he faced the Flames of Asuyrian, which test the worthiness of potential kings, he failed and was horribly burned. He blamed enemy magic rather than the taint of chaos in his own soul, and the rest is history.

NOTE: my spelling of specific names is suspect. Just go with it, all right?

IIRC, his mother Morathi was quietly influenced by Chaos and raised Malekith accordingly. It wasn't until after he tried to pass through the Sacred Flames after Aenerion died that he was marked as "impure" and was denied the title of Phoenix King that his true nature began to show through.

Granted, that's the Asuryan perspective on the story. Haven't read how they've written it in the Drucchi book.

IIRC Makelith lead the elf armies during many of the battles against chaos. He grew up fighting it and was overcome by hate. He was a great general and was looked up to as a general. Eventualy the war ends, aenerion dies and makelith wants to become king. How ever the other elves decide he is too blood thirsty to lead them during a time of peace so decide to choose the second in line (can't remember the name) as their king. Malekith and his supporters accuse the other guy of orshiping chaso and a few days later is found mysteriously poisoned. Malekith says he killed himself because they had found out that he was a chaos follwer and walks into the fire. He gets burned by it so grabs his loyal soldiers and runs off. The dark elves make his suit of armour to cover uo the burns and they build lots of powerful items into it.

He and his line were cursed the second Aenerion drew the sword of Khaine from the black altar. Morathi was corrupted when Aenerion saved her from the daemons. Malelith was groomed by his father and mother to rule after his father. But after Aenerions death after this defeating of the daemons. The princes choose Bel Shanaar as the new pheonix king. Morathi then starts to poison Malelith and expand the jealousy he feels. Eventually see wins out and Malelith poison the pheonix king.
