I been wondering about if its possible and "legal" to take a IG Baneblade or Shadowsword/Stormlord and convert it to a Blood Angles, Space Wolfs or Deamon Hunter superheavy tank and use it in games?

This probably belongs in 'You Make Da Call' since really it's a rules question, not an army list.

By the time you're playing super heavies generally you are playing a friendly game - so the easiest answer would be to ask your fellow players if it's okay.

If you're playing in an Apocalypse tournament (wow, send pics!) then really the question is; is your modified model actually counting as a unit for the Space Marines? (does your tourney allow you to make your own datasheets, maybe?) If not - then, no, you can't field it. If you want to field it with Baneblade stats in a tournament then again, no you can't, as it is officially an IG unit.

Daemon Hunters can be fielded as part of an IG force - so you should have no problems there either friendly or competitive.
