Hi,
long time lurker and first time poster.

Painted this 40k Terminator army up for my friend.

Based on the Flesh Eaters colour scheme but left with out specific chapter markings at his request. He used the list in the Dark Angels Codex using the Terminator captain as the special character. (sorry can't remember his name just now.

To get the most out of the army there has been a lot of work done with magnets. The Captain and first 2 squads can be armed as standard Terminators or as Assault Terminators.

The Land Raiders can be Crusaders or Redeemers as the sponson weapons can be swapped. Yes I know Redeemers arn't in the Dark Angels book but my mate wanted the option for any future lists.

The Land speeder heavy flamers can be removed and the Dreadnought arms can be swapped. (didn;t have the spare arms for the pics)

he wanted all of the army to have a battle worn look.

So enough of the words, on with the pics.

Quite impressive, Im guessing you are using the Deathwing rules for this army? Nice compatibility with the changeable parts, its important that you never fully commit to one loadout, as you may find it ineffective towards your play style...

Wow, very nice, both on the color scheme and army idea

This is a pretty damm good looking army. I do have a suggestion though. Right now looking at it, its hard to tell the diffrent squads and the land raiders apart. Mabe some thing like a stripe or stripes on the shoulders of the termies and mabye a shark tooth patern on one of the raiders. Just so squad id can be easily made.

Hi,
thanks for the comments. Glad you liked them.

Each squad is numbered with a white Roman numeral on the top of the armour. makes it very easy to spot during a game. You can just see them if you look at the group pic. One of the land speeders has a short antenna on the front. O.k. the land raiders arn't marked but we can usually keep track of them.

Thanks

These are quite nice! I wish my marines looked this good. Well painted and the battle damage isn't over the top.

Really great job!
Perfect measure of weathering, looked 'lived-in' but not neglected, and the subtle highlights set it all off fantastically.

I particularly like the Chaplain, the old school lightning claws work brilliantly, and the red skull looks menacing as hell, almost like it's been slavered in blood!

All in all, very impressive, a shame you can't keep it!

BTW: How did you go about basing the Speeders?
It looks great, I'd love you 'yoink' the method!

That weathering on the vehicles is just phenomenal.

"Well, isn't the enemy of your enemy, like, your friend? Or whatever? Can't they team up?"
"Not exactly. In this setting, the enemy of your enemy is still a floating, greasy, armored brain."
"Well, what about his enemy? Maybe you could be friends with him."
"No, because that guy is a mechanical horror in an undying battle shell. He sails from world to world in a flying tomb, serving gods who eat hope."

Cracking models mate. What size magnets are you using for the Land Raider side mounts? (if you use magnets of course?)
