I'm trying to make a Gurren Lagaan-inspired Ork army wherein drills are mostly used instead of choppas. Drills used as stabbing implements (like a knife, or attached to the hand as though it were a gauntlet with a drill attached to it, or in the case of PKs replacing the hand altogether, Big Daddy style). I tried to model a drill earlier today (first time ever using GS) and the results were disastrous. It's too blunt and the drill's grooves aren't uniform enough. It's also taking way longer than I thought it would to harden to the point where I can cut the lines into it without destroying the shape of it altogether. It's really frustrating.

Any tips on how to do this specifically, or how to use GS in general? It seems I'm going to need to buy some modeling tools, the needle tool doesn't seem like it'll be enough to do what I want.

Buy screws from a hardware store. They'll look much better as drill heads than anything you could sculpt.

simple buy cheap drill bits at a hardware store, put green stuff in the grooves and let it dry like that. Once its hardened you should be able to twist it out and viola! a screw weapon, more GS to make a point on it likely though.

Well i used this way, once
Tools
1.paper clip
2. green stuff
3. a model tool or something that looks like the picture
4. a drill that can change speeds to slow

Take the paper clip and take only the straight part, cover it in greenstuff and roll the greenstuff on a flat wet surface to make it even all over.

let it dry for 3 min or so and then put it into the mouth of the power drill, let it spin slow then take the tool and remove greenstuff by dragging the tool up, when the drill is spinning, all you need to do is cut straight up, because it is spinning, and if you go slow the groove should be uniform.

I just facepalmed so hard it cracked my skull. I'm so ashamed that I couldn't think of that myself!

Best part is I can get several varieties and sizes to make it look less uniform/more thrown together.
