This is how I would run most units. The Fire Dragons would obviously do anti tanky things. Along with that the TL Bright Lances on the Dire Avengers would also take care of anti tank. Eldrad would catch a ride with a DA squad. The Fire Prism's will be nifty against horde armies, and against other tanks if everything else fails to do its job. I'm hoping the Jet Bikes will be good for last minute objective grabs, as well as hitting people with the Destructor. The War Walkers would either outflank in, or go as far forward as possible and take advantage of their Scout move to get somewhere, which ever I'm feeling.

Things I've pondered include getting an Autarch to help the WW's come in a bit quicker. I would like to make this list modifiable, so that I could use it to get to 1850 without to much troubles. Please help me Dakka!

Eldrad is overkill in this list. He has nothing to do except be Eldrad. Nothing worth using guide (unless he's standing next to outflanking walkers), or fortune (except perhaps jetbikes). This list could do with just a doomseer.

5 tanks at this point level is pretty good. Sadly you really don't have anything worthwhile in them so it becomes las cannon and mop up affair to beat it.
Beef the units and make them combat worthy. Put shuricannons on the GJB squads.

War Walkers have 2 x weapons, not twin linked. I'm sure that was a typo though.

Yea it was a typo. Sorry forgot to cover Eldrad's job. I had wanted to keep him close to the WW's to Guide/fortune them. Ideally they'll be in an area with cover for them to re-roll if they fail.

Would it be worthwhile to take Eldrad out to put a Doomseer on a Jetbike in? I could then add 1 to the Fire Dragon's and add another Guardian Jetbike to the group of 3.

Also would you recommend putting a Scatter Laser on a WS instead of Bright Lances? I figured with most army's focused on Mech these days the sooner I pop open those tanks, the sooner the Fire Prism's get to do their jobs.

Also any opinions on an Autarch over a Farseer? As far as that goes, Farseer over Eldrad?

This is my revised list. Please look and comment! I was debating loosing the warp spiders for another set of Guardian Jetbikes, or another set of Dire Avengers. The reason why I haven't is because I do like the Spiders because they're a nice harassment unit. Comments and criticism please!

Anyone have an opinion?

I'd drop 2 GJB's or take 6 and the embolden lock. 3 + Destructor lock is enough for just contesting/taking objectives. That would be my vote.

I would add a spider or two. for a total of 6-7 with an exarch.

I would drop the jetseer personally, I just don't think he really fits in what is essentially trying to be a mech list (and spiders which fit the theme). your S6+ weapons don't need doom. Guide is good, but using a jetbike to sit near a warwalker squadron is overkill. Put him with a DA squad near the walkers or something (in a serpent obviously)

Farseer on a jetbike with GJB is a waste. If the GJB get caught in CC they will be a huge liability to the Farseer.

GJB without the Farseer on the other head are decent in that configuration except without the Farseer Embolden is a must.

5 DA in a Serpent is great yet dangerous. If that serpent goes down you have a rather useless unit on your hands.

Be prepared for your Fire Dragon Serpent to get a lot of love from enemy fire.

Warp Spiders, I can't talk to as I haven't used.

Fire Dragons x2 good

Puting it down to 3 GJB's with Destructor and dropping the Seer's Bike would put me down to 1426. I could pick up 2 Spiders and put Bright Lances on the DA's WS's...or pick up Eldrad....Ideas?

Again, why in the heck do you need Eldrad in this list? That's a horrible road for you. You don't need him.

I agree with BlueDagger somewhat on the one FD Squad, but that's fine with me if my opponent ignores my BL serpent to fire at dragon serpent armed with cheap SC's.

I 'can' speak about spiders. I use them now, and I'm never going back in my mech list. They are too good if used properly. I want to stress that. Use them properly or you will hate every 22 point model you buy.

Okay. So put the two more Spiders in, and the BL's on the Serpents.

How do you use the Spiders?

They can be used essentially to do massive damage to an enemy like any other firepower unit. The trick is nailing the ranges to keep them in firing range (12" move + 12" gun range) every round, and jumping away to keep opponents from being able to rapid fire, plasmagun, mass fire them. Preferably behind cover. If you don't roll high enough (I've been lucky) on the jump back rolls, then you will move backwards and fire, then jump back again. Some people get all tweaky because the Exarch has power blades and they try to use the spiders to shoot, then assault things. I use blades, but only so if I DO make a mistake the exarch can kill something before withdrawing with hit and run.

Again, if you jump over and back through impassable terrain or terrain that blocks LOS, all the better. Nothing like taking a load of S6 shots and not being able to hit them back in return.

Okay, It's good to know that I have been using them right. I love watching hordes fall. I just updated my army list up above. How's it looking now?

It's pretty good. Nothing glaringly stupid in it to me.

The only change I'd make at all would be to drop to just a Guideseer. If so, I'd just add holo-fields on the prisms.

Hmm...That is a good point considering the amount of S6 Shots im firing. Thanks for all the replies so far!

3 GJBs and a warlock with Destructor will run off the field so fast it will make your head spin. I can't stress enough that that Lock needs to have Embolden. GJB in that configuration are not meant to fight and you'll learn that the hard way real fast when one stray missile causes a moral test and your jetting 3D6 for the board edge.

I've never tried them BlueDagger, but I can see what you mean with their leadership. Good thing is, if he learns that the hard way - it's a wargear change, not a model change.

I agree. I'll probally play it safe and go with the Embolden. Before I was planning on keeping the Farseer with them to help that out.
