Ok well this can be an upgrade for veterans, infantry squads, and stormtroopers squads ,this would be like a 10 to 15 point upgrade and it would be like feel no pain except strength 3 shots get saved on a 5 or 6 and strength 4 get saved on just a 6 how ever on strength 5 or higher The medic can only stare in horror at his freind whose body is beyond help do to the strength of the gun and just simply remember to tell everyone to KEEP there heads DOWN lol ! Let me know what you think

I think you need to meditate long and hard on your subconscious dislike of punctuation.

I had a fair amount of trouble understanding what you said, so I'm going to pick out the bits that made sense.

I personally think the ability to give lots of IG squads FNP would be vastly overpowered, especially for 15 points.

I think a much fairer way to implement the idea would be to make it a 30 point option, only for Veteran Squads. One model becomes the medic, similar to how one model gets a demolition charge when the squad takes Demolitions. I think that still might be a little much though, especially in a Veteran mechanized list.

Endova's suggestion makes all vet squads CCS squads with meat shields, a little too powerful.

OP's "Feel Some Pain" (Complete with far-too-detailed fluff, for some reason) is just terrible, too complicated and too hard to keep track of.

For a 15 point upgrade to a squad, maybe the Medic gives the squad toughness 4(3), as if they were on a bike; that way they are harder to injure with rifle fire, but still instant die just the same.

I'm kind of pleased with that actually!

Remember. If you include this medic in a "Mobbed Up" squad, that 15pts can be distributed to up to 50 models. Make it a 30pt option and only mobbed up units will take it.

I like the idea of "Feel Some Pain," I think I understood what TheCadianParatrooper was trying to say (though they should definitely check their grammar and not use chat speak "lol?"). My suggestion? Wounds to roll of 4+ or worse receive a FNP roll of 4+, rolls to Wound of 3+ make a 5+ FNP roll, 2+ receive no FNP roll (Jimmy got splattered to itty bitty pieces.... the horror.... the horror....).

Just because anyone agrees with anyone, doesn't mean they are correct. Beware the thin line between what is "Correct" and what is "Popular."

Yeah but that's a hideously complciated rule and uses modifiers - which thankfully 5th edition has almost completely eliminated.

So, no thanks.

MEDIC!: 5pts, upgrades one infantry model to a medic.

As long as the medic is still alive, if the unit is wounded by an enemy unit during the opponent's shooting phase, but before saves are rolled, one model may be chosen by the owner to receive the special rule 'feel no pain' until the end of the phase. If a model is chosen in this way, the medic may not fire in the next turn. If the medic is killed, this bonus is removed. Only one model may be chosen in this way per turn, but a different model may be chosen each turn.

I like Soup and a roll's take on it. But I think what should be considered is a rule similar to the Medic rule in the Witchhunters book, for 10pt.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
"If accompanied by a Medic, the squad may ignore the first wound it takes each turn so long as it is not a shooting attack that causes Instant Death or a melee attack that allows no armor save."

Instead of "ignore the first" it could be "ignore one wound"

Ignore any wound? So allocate wounds on the squad and then save the heavy weapon guy at the last minute? Sounds like a bit much.

I didn't know there was a witchhunters rule. That sounds pretty good, and no reason guard wouldn't have similar guys.

If you want a medic to grant a FNP type ability but not as good as FNP, just make the save a 5+ or 6+. While some of the ideas suggested in this thread are interesting, they're all too complicated for the sake of some guardsmen.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.
