I run an army of Tzeentch and recently played a 2250 game. I have 3 wizards and a block of 20 chaos warriors with full command and the banner of 5+ WS against shooting. I used the warriors as a bunker for my wizards and they did well however when they got into combat the wizards were kind of useless. I know I can move the wizards out of the unit before I charge and whatnot but Ive been screwed before by wizards dying in the open. and spending 400 some points on a unit that is for combat but it used as a bunker for wizards and doesn't want to be in combat is a problem.
So I was thinking of dropping the unit of warriors down to 10 and using 15-18 chosen as my main combat unit.
Here is my question, does the 3 points(I don't use up all my special slots so that really doesnt matter) per model justify the +1 WS and roll on the EOTG. I plan on converting them with shields and HW and giving them the same banner of 5+ ward save in shooting with the mark of tzeentch..
The other question is this. I have 6 dispel dice and 1-2 scrolls. The chosen can only take 1 magic item. I was thinking the favour of the gods so they can alter their EOTG roll, but the collar of khorne gives the MR2 and the champ a small WS. But against high magic armies it makes my main combat unit(I also run a unit of knights thought) much more survivable.
So first are the chosen worth it(I think they are)
and which magic item is better the altered roll or the MR2
