Just moved into the area and currently have no car, though I'm only like a mile walk from the metro.
Currently have 4 armies over 2k pts and a gaming table with some pretty awesome terrain. Always open for gaming at my place if anyone were anywhere nearby, and if anything storewise is along a metro line i could go for that.
Always looking for escalation leagues also, especially now as im going ot be starting a tyranids army, one of those would be great.
If anyone knows of anything of that sort in the area or wants to have a game sometime just leave me a pm, thanks.

Wow, all these northern VA folks popping up. I love it that our area is so active. Check out the IFL forum, might be able to find an opponent on there. Lots of us throughout NOVA.

yay old town!
A bunch of people play at victory comics on saturday its opening gaming day. Crowd is a bunch of kids and then a group of us late 20's early 30s folk. There is a bus that actually gets you pretty close that you can take from King Street but I forget exactly which one it is. Although it is a loong bus ride.

I live in Fairfax right next to Fair Oaks, I know there's a group that plays at Game Parlor in Chantilly but I think you have to pay to join them or something.
I would love to play more though.

It's because we're 'recession proof'
As for Victory Comics, if you know where Escalation Burger is in Falls Church, its right in that area.
One of the former Complete Strategist(the store you remembered) employees now works at VC and the store has a HUGE space for gaming. It's pretty neat (but its no Game Parlor in terms of size).
As for the new guy, welcome to NOVA! (I say NOVA and not VA because, as I am sure you have already learned, this part of the state is COMPLETELY different then the other 85% of Virginia) hope to see you around!

Only because VA is a poor and sh!tty state to begin with. Just like the bums on the street panhandling arent effected too much by the recession.

Pay to join us? Yes and no. We do have an annual fee ($15) for anyone that wants to be a paid member. This allows you to vote in the annual council elections, propose and host events, and participate in member only events, such as leagues and quarterly tournies. But if you just want to show up and play at open gaming, post to the forum, hang out in general, nope, no cost. Note that the Game Parlor has a $2 gaming fee. We have nothing to do with that.

Cool man, I'm right by Old Town. I play an in-progress BA army. I go to Springfield myself, ask for the guy with the ridiculously long name.
Or Hoff. Asking for Hoff is fine too.
