Hi everyone. I'm a long time fan of 40k getting back into it after about 20 years since I last played. I'm making a speed freak army slowly but surely. I also have a 13 y/o son and 6 y/o daughter who are learning as I do so this is a family affair for me. Not sure what else to say but I enjoy the place very much for the information that is gathered here and enjoy reading about the games.

@Aes Sedai - I got in touch with a bunch of friends from home that I used to play with. They kept talking about it and it gave me the itch. I'm in the building stage, just have the black reach and ork battleforce to start with. Figure I will learn the game as I build. My local shop is a nice place and always has people around to play.
I bought the black reach set with the intention of getting my kids into it. We ahve only played once so far, but they can't wait to play again. We'll play over the weekend and maybe work our way up to a 500 point game. And my kids are gamers also My daughter has been playing anything we would let her since she was 3, she had her own DS at 4. She can type at 6 and is learning how to read really fast. My son started playing everquest when he was about 6. Has been playing WoW for a few years now. Plays FPS shooters like a madman. He is loving Bad Company 2. Oh, yea. I'm a gamer too I have been playing video games since the fairchild came out in the 70's, have owned quite a few pc's and consoles over the years and so on. Right now I split my time between building and painting orks and FF XIII, which I think is a great game. I just learned how to paint and have only finished 4 nobz but I think they came out well.

Welcome to dakkadakka,and what kind of wonderful kids and family you have
I am not saying my family is bad but not as good as yours.
I am only 15 years old,just got into GW games 3 years ago,and I love it.
My parents had been trying to convince me not to play this and focus more on study(which I definitely do!)And they've never ever bought me a single box(not even a blister) of models,so so sad...
Trust me,if your kids are playing happily now,then one day they would realise how lucky they are to have such a great gaming life;such a easy gaming life! *sigh...*
Any ways,welcome again!

@Tony I never said their mom likes it I'm a single father who is lucky enough to see my kids almost every day. I try to do things we all enjoy and gaming on console, pc and tt just happen to be those things. My daughter loves playing rock band, she sings but with no fail mode I have been letting her play drums and she is getting better. I'm very lucky to have kids who enjoy the same things as me. And their studies and school come before anything. I do their home work with them and make sure they know what they are doing. I just had a crash course on geometry the last couple months. The things you forget as you get old
