Alright, where to start? A few months ago, I decided to consult a good friend of mine who plays
40K almost as much as I do to help me choose my next army. I've had experience with, firstly, Space Wolves, then Daemon Hunters, subsequently Tau, then Dark Eldar, Guard, and Witch Hunters. I wanted something new, and something competitive. I would have stayed with Dark Eldar, had it not been for their ancient codex and the promise of a paint-scheme I am not terribly fond of painting. 'Orks', my friend said, 'they fit your play-style and are highly competitive.'
I asked him to send me the builds which he had on hand which had been tried and tested and are suitably 'killy'. Since I am a huge fan of a
MEQ army and love the look of yellow Ork vehicles painted right, I decided on a mobile, deadly force of Badmoons. From there, through a bit of adaptation and improvisation and playtesting, we arrived at this list (and further expansions for different points levels):

Pulling the built and sprued Orks from the 5 Assault on Black Reach sets I had purchased and split over the years, I went to work.

So, skipping some steps of the building process (which I'll post in later entries) I delved right into painting one of my converted Trukks: a converted Rhino tank. The process was pretty simple, actually, and let me know if you like the results. Here are the pics of that Trukk,
